Your Fitness Future is in the Stars!

Gemini: May 22 – June 23
As a Gemini, you put a lot of value into careful thinking. Unfortunately, this means you have a hard time shutting off your thoughts and relaxing. The next time you’re mind is racing, slow down with a yoga class. If you’re not seeing the fitness results you’d like, satisfy your analytical side by keeping a fitness journal to assess your exercise habits. Log your workouts on a calendar to see how much exercise you’re getting. Fewer than three sessions a week means you need to take action. You’re interested in so many things, so it won’t be hard to find a new sport or activity to shake out the doldrums.

Cancer: June 24 – July 23
Home and family are very important to the Cancer sign. Setting up a workout room at home, with a jump rope, treadmill and dumbbells, is a great way to blend fitness and family. And it allows you to exercise whenever you get the urge—no driving required! As a water sign, getting back to the beach is the dream vacation for you. If you can’t take a tropical holiday, visit your local swimming pool and plunge in. You’re a natural in the water, so try snorkeling, water-skiing or cliff diving if you’re feeling extra adventurous. At the very least, soak in the hot tub as often as possible.

Leo: July 24 – August 22
Leos are natural-born leaders who are at the center of the universe—at least in their own minds! Use your charisma to organize an office volleyball team or sign up for a 5K charity run and collect pledges. You’ll thrive as you train for the big event and your magnetism will draw lots of donors (and fellow trainees) to your cause. You pride yourself on being an individual and may prefer to exercise solo instead of being part of a fitness class. As you don’t like to feel pressured, keeping a regular fitness schedule may be a bit stressful to you. Ease up on yourself and work toward meeting your own personal goals instead of feeling like you have to go along with the crowd.

Virgo: August 23 – September 22
Virgos are the analysts of the Zodiac. Because you like to look at the big picture and see what’s involved, you are great at taking a big goal and breaking it down into manageable steps. Instead of concentrating on a losing 30 pounds, focus on losing one or two pounds a week, one week at a time. You’re a pro at deciphering information and deciding whether it's useful or not, so take the time to read through the stack of fitness magazines next to your bed and devise your own workout routine. You can't handle chaos, so you need to have an organized fitness plan. You're more likely to stick to plans made in advance, so spend Sunday evenings with your calendar and plot out your fitness routine for the week.

I say this literally & with all respect ~
    LIGHTEN UP !!! - 10/17/2013 12:28:26 PM
  • Whether you believe it or not, it's worth 3 Sparkpoints. Click it and forget it. :) Problem solved. - 3/15/2013 8:22:25 PM
  • AAAAAAgggggghhhhh

Horrorscopes ar just about the stupidest thing to post on a site that purports to have a common sense scientific approach to fitness and weight losss. I cannot think of one thing in the maistream that is less scienific than horrorscopes.

We must kill these stupid things once and for all.

And anyone who comments one their teaits based on the date of their birth is ... I'm going to say it ... STOO-PID and they need a podcast that tells them to breathe in/breath out.

Sorry, I'm going all Keith Olberman on this and foaming at the mouth.

God this is a stupid article! - 2/24/2012 9:13:28 AM
  • After reading some of the comments I went back and re-read the preamble to the article - doesn't say anywhere the opinions are scientific fact, researched and/or peer-reviewed (as is the case with some articles). So absent all of that - decide for yourself whether any of it applies and dismiss any that doesn't. In terms of whether the article is sparkpeople- worthy, if it helps one person, it is worthy. For me, one of the most powerful (meaning helpful/inspirati
onal) aspects of SP is the diversity of information. I have found strategies that have worked even though they were counter-intuitive to my way of thinking, inspiration and determination from unlikely sources, so I say - bring it all on - I have the free will to choose what I read and what I act on. Just my opinion. - 10/14/2011 9:01:44 AM
  • I'm torn on this one. Mine was dead on (Scorpio). But I am questioning why it is on Sparkpeople too. Yeah it's fun or cute but it is hokey and has little value.. I feel Spark is almost insulting us with this one.....BUT I did read it. So, what is that saying? - 8/13/2011 10:54:26 AM
  • I'm in the "relax and have fun" faction here. If you don't like the topic of an article, don't read it. I skip things all the time. That's what I love about SparkPeople. I've learned new things, been exposed to things I wouldn't otherwise be exposed to, received new ideas from all sorts of surprising sources and, last but not least, had FUN along the way!

  • I'm with the "Sheesh, why is this crap on SparkPeople?" faction. I come to SP for useful information, not three-thousand-ye
ar-old nonsense that doesn't even take celestial basics like precession into account. And I'm saying that as a practicing witch as well as a scientist.

And I don't see what's fun about bad advice based on bad science and worse magic.

Fun - Mine was right on. I love when we can just chill and take take everything so seriously. - 7/22/2011 9:38:19 PM
Lighten up folks ! I don't think Spark is claiming this to be the latest scientific research. It's just for fun. We remember fun don't we? :-) - 7/22/2011 7:32:04 PM
  • Relax, people. Okay, this one's more fun than fact, but the great thing about this site is that it acknowledges we're all different. Maybe it will give someone an idea they can try. Some Geminis may not like -- or be able to do -- yoga. And some of us may prefer water aerobics and not have access to a pool. It's just a new way of thinking about what exercise suits you. - 7/22/2011 6:01:29 PM
  • Really? Horoscopes now???? I have always loved how Spark People relies on legitimate research to back up its healthy lifestyle initiatives. This makes me really think twice about everything I'm reading here and will read in the future. - 7/22/2011 12:02:44 PM
  • OMG!!! I'm a Scorpio and that fit me exactly!!! - 7/21/2011 8:58:42 PM
I thought that this was cute, and it described me dead on!! I have always said I must be part fish!! I love the water, any water!! My favorite place to vacation is at the Beach or on Cruise, and my favorite form of exercising is my Water Aerobics!!! Oh by the way, I am a Cancer... - 7/21/2011 8:41:35 PM
  • Enjoyed the article as I have never seen one that focused on the astrological signs before! However, my sign (Aries) described me as there are times that I get bored and need to switch things up to avoid boredom and keep progressing! - 7/21/2011 8:06:06 PM
