Get Your Daily Dose of Motivation from the DailySpark!

By , SparkPeople Blogger
Good afternoon!

At SparkPeople, we are committed to helping our members and readers reach their goals in health and fitness—and in life. We know how hard it can be to stay motivated—especially with so many negative stories spreading around these days.
This is why we are particularly excited about launching the new feature that launched today: DailySpark. DailySpark features uplifting, positive and inspiring stories and videos from around the web, curated by our editors and experts. It's something you can look at each day for just a few minutes to reset your outlook and your motivation. Here are a few of my favorite DailySpark videos at the moment:

In 75 Seconds: Why We Have Such Distorted Views of Beauty
It's pretty amazing to watch this time-lapse video of how an average woman transforms into a Barbie-like figure with Photoshop.

20 Things You Should Say More Often

If you've never seen a video by "Kid President" before (or even if you have), you're in for a treat. He's entertaining and adorable—and what he says is spot on. This little guy is wise beyond his years.

Life Lessons You Can Learn from Your Dog
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a dog person, so I love this video (and wholeheartedly agree with this list!).

Like all SparkPeople content features, you can earn 3 SparkPoints for watching/reading a DailySpark feature each day (max 3 Points per day for this feature). WooHoo!
A great thing about these positive videos is that they are easy to share and "Spark" someone else's day, too! We love spreading positivity to our members—and beyond. And these fun, entertaining videos are a great way to Spread the Spark. Sharing them with your Facebook friends or Twitter follows brings more people to, which aids our mission of helping people reach their goals. Simply click the "Share" buttons below any video (or on the left side rail) to spread a little positivity to your circles. (And when you do, you can also earn another SparkPoint!)
We plan to add more videos to DailySpark every week to help keep you inspired, so check back often. (We'll feature new DailySpark videos in your newsletters and Start page to name a few, but can visit the feature any time by clicking "Videos" underneath the "Articles & Videos" tab at the top of the page).
We hope you love this new feature and that it lifts your spirits. We look forward to hearing your thoughts in the comments below. And if you'd like to share an awesome video you found online with our editors for possible inclusion in the DailySpark, please email

I can't figure out how to get points for daily spark on the mobile version. There is no button for the points and no option to go to full desktop version. Report
I've been quite inspired by the post in my inbox today. The one thing that changed...
The ahuh moment came for me last year 12/12. I did an insurance cover test that comparing waist measurements to cardiac /diabetic risk. healthy adult females 80cm or less. Mine 90cm. A further calculation was waist to height ratio. your waist circumference should not be greater that half your height. Mine 0.56 .
waist circumference divided by height less than or equal to 0.5. That was enough to give me a wee jolt. Thanks to that member today and this site I have great tools to help . Angie Report
Very interested blog. Report
We checked both of your accounts and you did in fact get your SparkPoints for that task. You should be able to see that on your SparkPoints page--look for the "DailySpark" task (not the "SparkPeople Video" task, as that is referring to SP's own videos like our workouts). Thanks! Report
No I did not see my 3 points after watching a video. I guess there's a problem linking these videos to the Spark Points. Nice dog video, though. Report
Has anyone else had problems actually getting sparkpoints for watching these videos? I've opened the videos, watched them, clicked the "get spark points" button and have gotten the "congratulations" window telling me I earned the points. However, my sparkpoints summary is never updated. I've tried all three of these videos with the same results. Has anybody had better luck with these points? Report
Great blog. Report
Isn't that what the Spark People Blog is supposed to be? Report
