You don't need to go to the gym to get a workout in. With our newest Woman's Day video series, Work Out Anywhere, our assistant health editor Abby Cuffey demonstrates exercise moves you can do in everyday locations, like your home or at the grocery store. In today's video she shows viewers how to work out while they are chatting on the phone.

When phones were "land-lines" and all I had was a long extension cord, I used to pace around the room. Now that phones are often mobile, there's no excuse not to wander all over the place, do stairs, etc. Report
Great exercises, I will use them. Thanks. Report
I'm deaf in one ear and can't use the phone on that - so switching sides would be problematic - still have to use the one good ear. Soooo I guess this justifies buying myself a motorola stereo bluetooth headset, eh? Then I can exercise while on the phone but without having to juggle hands trying to figure out which one to hold up to the phone while the other hand does the support or the exercise etc. ha! Report
Great now I want have to end chats with my mom when i'm ready to start my exercise Report
Love it, and Abby is great! That last one I'd be hanging on to something solid as well. Thanks for the healthy and timely reminder. BTW, I think I'd like this SUZYGREENBERG94 - the first comment here. Honest and amusing! Thank YOU for the chuckles. Report
Thanks for reminding me - I need to build some little bits of strength work into my day!

Great ideas for time normally spent sitting! Report
Great info and so easy to put into practice. Report
Love it! Will put these to use! Report
I rarely talk on the phone, so probably not. But, these exercises can still be done! Report
These sound great. I seem to spend a lot of time on the phone lately, so I'm definately going to try them! Report
These are great exercises and it goes to show that we can get exercise into our day in so many ways. Showed me just how much time I waste not exercising.

Thanks Milano 2011 Report
Yea as an extra I would do them. Report
wow, great ideas! Report
These are great exercises!! Simple things that I would normally do but now I can do them while doing other things! Thanks!! Report
absolutely will be doing those, how much easier can it get!!!!! Report
I think I'd rather listen attentively & exercise at another time. Might work for being stuck on hold though! Report
Sure will -- all but the wall sits -- no space Report
I don't talk on the phone much. Report
It did sound interesting to know. I never would of thought of some ways you can exercise while doing other everyday activities. Report
I tried to watch, It just kept freezing up. If you waited long enough,it would come back. It took around 10 minutes to get through. It did sound like a good way to get more exercise.

Great idea and I need ideas to keep things fresh and new. I am a phone talker, especially with my sister. Thank you. Report
I tried watching this, but it kept freezing up on me :( I was looking forward to what exercises were recommended!! Report
I'm not a big phone-talker, but these moves can be done pretty much any time - watching TV, reading a book, whatever! Report
I don't talk on the phone much but even watching TV I'll be doing everything suggested here except for the runner's stretch due to problems with my knees (unable to stretch in that way, but have modified the stretch). Report
I don't usually talk on the phone when I'm at home, I'm usually on the phone in the car, not at home. But if I'm ever at home on the phone I will try it! Report
You know, I'd kind of giggling at these, but in all honesty, i do these SAME exercises on my wii fit routine, in pilates class, they're really basic and this shows you can't use " I'm on the phone!" as an excuse to NOT get some much need muscle strengthening done! Report
