There is something special about opening up the mailbox and finding a package addressed just for you. Most of us don't ever outgrow that feeling you get when you slice through fresh packing tape to open a delivery—even if we already know what's inside. These days, you can get just about anything delivered right to your door—from diapers and fruit to yoga pants and shampoo.

Whether you're looking for a great gift to give that friend or family member who has everything or want to feel a little bit of occasional "package euphoria" yourself, subscription boxes can fill both needs.

Subscription services, which have skyrocketed in popularity over the last few years, come chock full of healthy meals, snacks, spices, cleaning products and clothes, all designed to meet the needs of your healthy lifestyle. So why not give the gift that keeps on giving?

Spice Up Your Meals, One Pack at a Time
Raw Spice Bar

For $7 a month, you'll receive three freshly-ground spice flavor kits containing globally inspired flavor profiles. You'll need to add your own fresh ingredients to make the included suggested recipes, but with names like peppercorn masala chai and Vandouvan scrambled eggs, we bet you'll be headed to your kitchen ASAP to try these delicious dishes.

When You Need a Little Nutritious Nosh
Graze

Let's face it: Snacking is a part of life. Whether you didn't eat enough breakfast, forgot it entirely or just need a little extra nutrition to get you through your day, you're probably going to reach for a snack at some point. Unfortunately, not all easy snacking options are healthy (looking at you, break room vending machine) or convenient (walking six blocks in the rain to the mini mart on your work break isn't going to cut it).

Graze snack boxes handle both of those quandaries with ease. After selecting your specific preferences from among 100 healthy snack options, you'll receive a different weekly snack box delivered to your home or office to satisfy all your snacking needs. For around $11.99 for an eight-snack variety box, Graze is also great to give as a gift—who wouldn't delight in healthy snack delivery?

Julep is the best box of beauty! Beautiful nail colors and treatments without the bad chemicals; gorgeous eye liners and shadows that glide on smoothly; and other items you'll surely crave. I don't work for them, but I should! - 4/24/2017   9:22:06 PM

These subscriptions are really tempting for me because I live in the middle of woods at the top of a mountain, I am 30 minutes away from a grocery store! - 2/21/2017   4:10:28 PM

I am a huge sub box fan so I really appreciate this article. I'm hesitant to try clothing sub boxes because of my size, but the snack and food ones are interesting. I've done a few skin cares ones, and I've done popsugar. Popsugar has a popular fitness box. This time of year you can find unused leftover sub box items from sub box bloggers looking to lighten their inventory. If anyone finds this interesting just google sub box bloggers and start reviewing a few and look for items for sale; also they are usually easy to find if you do a search on fb or pinterest. You can catch some good deals. - 1/23/2017   4:50:10 PM

Purple Carrot is a vegan and whole foods version of Blue Apron. My first (gift subscription) box arrives in a few days! :D - 12/12/2016   10:06:35 PM

Blue Apron, and others like it, have grown so fast that they can't keep with the demand and have let hygiene take the back-seat. The Fed have cited them many times for cleanliness issues and there have been issues of potential bacterial outbreaks. So please use caution when ordering from sites like these. I know someone who uses these subscriptions and loves them, but still, be wary... - 12/10/2016   12:32:09 PM

It's "palate," not "pallet," in the Blue Apron review. (Sorry, recovering copy editor here!) I keep getting emails from Graze but I haven't tried them. I would check online reviews for any subscription service as far as concerns ease of cancellation. I'm a bit gun-shy. - 12/9/2016   3:11:34 PM

I just signed up with SweatStyle. I thought I should try it out, even though I have never heard of any of the brands. I seriously do NOT think that a size 12 (their largest brand size) is going to fit me. I am down 3 sizes and my SP anniversary first year is coming up--I am now wearing a size L in 12-14, more towards the 14 BUT sometimes I have to buy an 18 top to fit my bust size. I am shooting for a size 12 or even a 10, but if that doesn't happen I am still satisfied with my achievement. I still think SweatStyle is worth checking out. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised! - 12/9/2016   1:00:52 PM

Personally I like Hello Fresh much more than Blue Apron. There are more options in choosing your meals for the week. And I LOVE Graze. As soon as my box comes in I just bring it to work. It's perfect for office snacking. - 12/9/2016   10:27:55 AM

Just a note--as of the time I am writing this, the above article lists the Raw Spice Bar subscription as $6 a month. However, when I click on the link the cheapest monthly plan is $7. The plan does remind me of the old saying "Variety is the spice of life"--this has both variety and spice, and is probably the least expensive option of the above. - 12/9/2016   10:16:19 AM

That was interesting and helpful - I've been looking for unique and memorable gift ideas for my members, and several of these will do the trick I think. Thanks for the info! (Sorry for the double comment - I'm not sure how that happened!) - 12/9/2016   7:42:09 AM
