Fire up the grill--it's dinner time! Tonight, let's celebrate summer with burgers, grilled corn, a salad and cantaloupe. Warm night, juicy burger, fresh melon… that's the life!

Burgers have earned a bad rep. When made with lean meat and kept a moderate size (3-4 ounces before cooking), burgers can have a regular place in a healthy meal plan.

Be creative with your burgers tonight! I've scoured SparkRecipes for new and delicious burger recipes. (If, like me, you prefer meat-free burgers, we've got plenty of those recipes, too.

Try the Super Juicy Grain & Seed Turkey Burgers, Blue Cheese Burgers or
Spicy Black Bean Burgers


I'm ready for dinner now!

Burger
250 calories or fewer, varied amounts of fat

Bun
Use a 100-calorie Sandwich Thin (or skip the bread, as I do most of the time)

1/2 c cantaloupe balls
about 30 calories

2 c salad greens with whatever veggies you have on hand
about 30 calories

1 T light dressing
50 calories, 3 g fat

1 ear corn
75 calories, 1 g fat

435 calories (535 with the "bun")
Add a glass of skim milk and a few low-calorie condiments for one great meal!
