'I've Formed A Lasting Bond with These Women'

Motherhood United Diverse April 2006 Mommy Team

Tamara (TAMMYBEE5): "I just wanted to share why I like coming to the BabyFit site is the support that the other mom's gave during pregnancy and afterwards. It is nice to have a connection to others who are experiencing the same things that you are.  Thank you."

Melissa (ISSATHEHUTT): "I was so excited to be pregnant with my second child - the only problem was... it had been so long - it was like doing it for the first time. I logged onto the computer one night and discovered BabyFit. The articles quickly sparked all of the information that had been lying dormant in my mind for the past 6 years - and "April 2006 mommies" gave me some people to talk to and question about things that I was still not 100% sure about. After a while, the names became familiar, the stories, the families - soon we were our own little family. We have helped each other through break ups, break downs, questions and rants. We eventually got to the point where we could talk to each other about ANYTHING - be it spousal abuse, odd bodily fluids, odors, strange body sensations, bizarre hormone driven rage. The one thing that we were always sure about was that we would be welcomed with open arms, support and guidance. Our first April babies were born very very early, Kamari and Hope - we all prayed that they would continue to grow and be healthy. In March our babies continued to make their way into the world and a few stubborn ones even hung on until early May! With each and every baby our hearts just got bigger and bigger and bigger. I can't believe now that for most of us (some a few more, some a few less), 4 months has already passed! Now we have so much more to share. We swap pictures and advice, prayers and support. I think that the greatest thing about our special group is that you can tell that there is 100% genuine concern for each other. When we all decided that we should start traveling North America to meet each other - it only seemed natural. It was as normal an idea as going to visit a sister, and to be truthful - that is what all of these women are like to me. We have moments of tension when sometimes we don't agree, but we always agree to disagree in the end, and are able to look past it easily. I am really glad that I got to be an April mommy - I must say - this "sisterhood" is what made this pregnancy such an enjoyable one. I know that these are women that I will keep close for years to come."
