These recipes sound good. I make our bread using whole wheat flour and I add ground flax and sesame seeds. Report
Just what I've been looking for! Thank you! Report
This is a GREAT, fantastic daily spark blog. I saved it to favorites. However my favorite bread recipe, free on the internet, is 5 Minute Artisan Bread. Check out You Tube. I'm surprised it was not included here with a link; very user friendly, you don't have to know ANYTHING about bread making, and no special equipment is required. Report
I love multigrain and whole wheat bread. I also love flax seed bread. We never eat white bread here. Report
I'm not adding any more sugar to my diet, nor honey, so I'm going to try the Easy Whole Wheat recipe. Report
I'm going to try the "Easy Whole Wheat Sandwhich Bread" today, with unbleached white flour...i need sandwhich bread & don't want to waste the gas just for a loaf of bread! Report
I don't understand why these are healthy? I'm not saying they aren't, but the article hasn't offered anything more than a list of bread recipes without indicating why they're healthy options (lower fat, better grains, higher protein??) I'm not sure.... Report
I love that you provided gluten-free options! They look delicious. And are easily tweaked if people are worried about the calories. Report
Not sure which one I will make - love home made bread. Have not made any since I went back to work, but have been so disappointed in the breads I have been getting at the stores.
Thanks so much for the article and recipes.

Five of these recipes made a good start for a new SparkPeople cookbook only for breads. My first cookbook is stuffed with everything else. ;-) Report
I love homemade bread. I would like to try several of these recipes, but fresh bread is yet another trigger food for me...I'll have to wait until I conquer my disordered eating before I make these. Report
I make my own breads every week or two - sometimes by hand sometimes I cheat and use the bread machine. :) I love the idea that it doesnt have preservatives and there is nothing like it. This is a great article, dont be intimidated if you are new to bread making, it'll be great! Report
Since I'm 61 and have Metabolic Syndrome/Insulin Resistance/pre-diabetes I avoid breads. Report
Probably will try the Whole Wheat & Honey Sandwich Bread and Kathie's Sandwich Bread... Report
I'm going to try the Whole Wheat & Honey, the Mom's Sandwich Bread and the Kathie's Sandwich Bread. I've been looking for some easy options to buying bread - mainly because of the expense and most of the breads have ingredients I'd rather not be eating. Thanks so much for posting! Report
They all sound yummy, but I will try the Easy Multigrain Sandwich Bread

I will try the honey whole wheat too : ) Report
I will try the Honey Whole Wheat :-) Report
I will be trying both of the gluten free breads as I have Celiac Disease and have to avoid gluten. Higher in calories but I can work around that. Report
The Whole Wheat and Honey Sandwich Bread is the only one that I see with a decent calorie content. Check your nutrition labels on these! =) Report
What's spelt flour and where do you get it? That looks like the easiest recipe. Report
Thanks so much for posting bread recipes. I love to make homemade bread. I sometimes will take the bread recipe and make rolls to go with meals. The extra rolls freeze well and heat up in minutes in the oven. Report
I actually make my own bread every week I make spelt bread if anyone would like the recipe here you go http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/reci
I think I'm going to try making the Whole wheat and honey sandwich bread. Sounds tasty and the calorie count isn't too bad. Report
