Reward Yourself & Others with SparkGoodies!

Use SparkPoints to Buy Virtual Gifts

420SHARES
You can use the SparkPoints you earn on the site to buy virtual “goodies” for yourself and other SparkPeople members. Use them to reward yourself for working hard to achieve your healthy goals (with a vacation, a new wardrobe, or haircut), to thank other members for their advice and support (with greeting cards, balloons, and flower bouquets), or to decorate your own SparkPage with more of your own interests (a guitar, hybrid car, or knitting needles).

Why Buy SparkGoodies?
SparkPoints are one of our most popular motivational tools, as they reward you for every positive action you take to reach your goals, from reading an article to logging your food intake. Earning SparkPoints is a simple way to measure your progress and feel accomplished, even when the scale doesn’t move.

SparkGoodies take these Points to the next level! You can spend the Points you earn on virtual gifts, allowing you to reward yourself and others for a job well done.

How it Works
Giving, receiving and managing your SparkGoodies is simple! Just follow these steps:
  1. Earn SparkPoints by completing tasks on the site. The more SparkPoints you accumulate, the more you’ll have to spend on Goodies!
  2. Buy SparkGoodies for yourself or another member.
  3. When you purchase SparkGoodies, your total SparkPoints earned will remain unchanged, meaning that you will keep your current trophy and your place on the SparkPoints leaderboards. As an example, if you’ve earned 5,000 SparkPoints to date and you buy a Goodie worth 500 points, your SparkPoints total will remain 5,000 and only your purchasing power will change (5,000 – 500 = 4,500 points to spend). You can learn more about your SparkGoodies purchasing power on your SparkGoodies Details page.
To Give a SparkGoodie to Another Member:
  • Log in and go to the member’s SparkPage
  • Scroll down until you see the “My SparkGoodies” heading (on the left side of the SparkPage).
  • Click the link that says “Give MEMBER a SparkGoodie”
  • The next screen will show you how many SparkPoints you have to spend, along with the choices of Goodies and their respective prices. Click on the Goodie you want to give to this member.
  • On the next page, you can attach a message with this Goodie (optional). Please note that the message you send with a Goodie is private—only the person who receives the SparkGoodie will be able to read it.
  • Confirm that you want to buy it by clicking “Send Goodie” at the bottom of the page.
  • This SparkGoodie will now appear on this member’s SparkPage under the “My SparkGoodies” heading, and the member may also receive an email letting them know that they’ve received a Goodie (if their email preferences allow).
To Buy a SparkGoodie for Yourself:
  • Log in and go to your SparkPage.
  • Scroll down until you see the “My SparkGoodies” heading (on the left side of your SparkPage, below your photos).
  • Click the link that says “Give Myself a SparkGoodie”
  • The next screen will show you how many SparkPoints you have to spend, along with the choices of Goodies and their respective prices. Click on the Goodie you want to purchase.
  • On the next page, you can attach a message with this Goodie (optional), and confirm that you want to buy it by clicking “Send Goodie” at the bottom of the page.
  • This SparkGoodie will now appear on your SparkPage under the “My SparkGoodies” heading.
We hope that you enjoy giving and receiving SparkGoodies! If you have questions, please post them in the Site/Technical Help forum.

these "goodies" are no use at all. I see no use for them, no incentive to keep on the straight & narrow, nada. The p oints are far better, and the trophies give a great feeling.

I have so many unused points........ it would be nice if I could ask SparkPeople to donate something to charity in exchange. That would be encouraging and give me an incentive to get more. - 12/19/2014 8:00:26 AM
  • Is there any way to send a spark goodie to all of your friends at once as if they're your own personal team? That would be nice for holiday wishes. I like to give and receive the goodies. It's fun and a way to encourage people. Thank you. - 11/23/2014 6:32:14 PM

Perhaps some of your advertisers could submit Coupons, discounts and give aways with Goodie points. Of course then they wouldn't be just virtual As we look over what we could buy/get with the goodie points the advertiser would get extra exposure.

  • Thanks SP for the Wonderful little Spark Goodies, I love them, as well as all my friends on Sp when they receive them. - 6/23/2014 10:09:03 AM
  • Does anyone know if there is a way of giving your spark goddie points to another member? A team of mine was giving sparkgoddies for losing % of weight, this is very motivating to some. For me the goodies do nothing so I thought I would give my points so the team can continue the challenge. Any suggestions? - 5/15/2014 11:24:32 AM
  • The only benefit I would appreciate about SparkGoodies is if you were allowed to use your accumulated points against the cost of cookbooks, spark-coach membership or spark tracker product costs. Please! - 5/6/2014 9:44:58 AM
  • these goodies are of no use to me lol its like telling me there is lots of money in my bank account and there really isnt....I like keeping it REAL - 3/26/2014 12:02:18 PM
  • I would rather have 5 regular sparkpoints than 500 goodie points... I'm not really that good at the social aspect of this site; the trophies motivate me far more. - 2/20/2014 2:57:26 AM
  • I think the Spark Goodies are there for being generous to others or for patting up yourself on the back for treating yourself to a good day. I enjoy giving and getting a virtual gift. How can it hurt? Someone worked at getting these graphics in here. Let's all appreciate that.

They also can inspire ideas and visualization.

  • I thought they were real things I could trade my points in for.. Kind of a big let down that they are "virtual" and super lame. Why would I trade in points for a non-existent vacation or a picture of a ball or weights? So weird... - 1/23/2014 6:51:52 PM

Thank you SparkPeople for this free sight and for all the work you do to make it a free sight. I am happy that there are a number of people who also appreciate you. I am sorry there are some people who doesn't appreciate the fact that this is a free sight and wants costly gifts that would probably mean this would more than likely no longer be a free sight.

  • I'm using the virtual gifts as ideas for real gifts I will treat myself to as I reach each short term and the ultimate goal. :) It helps me keep track of what I want, since my memory isn't the greatest. - 12/22/2013 4:10:16 PM
