You can use the SparkPoints you earn on the site to buy virtual “goodies” for yourself and other SparkPeople members. Use them to reward yourself for working hard to achieve your healthy goals (with a vacation, a new wardrobe, or haircut), to thank other members for their advice and support (with greeting cards, balloons, and flower bouquets), or to decorate your own SparkPage with more of your own interests (a guitar, hybrid car, or knitting needles).

Why Buy SparkGoodies?
SparkPoints are one of our most popular motivational tools, as they reward you for every positive action you take to reach your goals, from reading an article to logging your food intake. Earning SparkPoints is a simple way to measure your progress and feel accomplished, even when the scale doesn’t move.

SparkGoodies take these Points to the next level! You can spend the Points you earn on virtual gifts, allowing you to reward yourself and others for a job well done.

How it Works
Giving, receiving and managing your SparkGoodies is simple! Just follow these steps:
  1. Earn SparkPoints by completing tasks on the site. The more SparkPoints you accumulate, the more you’ll have to spend on Goodies!
  2. Buy SparkGoodies for yourself or another member.
  3. When you purchase SparkGoodies, your total SparkPoints earned will remain unchanged, meaning that you will keep your current trophy and your place on the SparkPoints leaderboards. As an example, if you’ve earned 5,000 SparkPoints to date and you buy a Goodie worth 500 points, your SparkPoints total will remain 5,000 and only your purchasing power will change (5,000 – 500 = 4,500 points to spend). You can learn more about your SparkGoodies purchasing power on your SparkGoodies Details page.
To Give a SparkGoodie to Another Member:
  • Log in and go to the member’s SparkPage
  • Scroll down until you see the “My SparkGoodies” heading (on the left side of the SparkPage).
  • Click the link that says “Give MEMBER a SparkGoodie”
  • The next screen will show you how many SparkPoints you have to spend, along with the choices of Goodies and their respective prices. Click on the Goodie you want to give to this member.
  • On the next page, you can attach a message with this Goodie (optional). Please note that the message you send with a Goodie is private—only the person who receives the SparkGoodie will be able to read it.
  • Confirm that you want to buy it by clicking “Send Goodie” at the bottom of the page.
  • This SparkGoodie will now appear on this member’s SparkPage under the “My SparkGoodies” heading, and the member may also receive an email letting them know that they’ve received a Goodie (if their email preferences allow).
To Buy a SparkGoodie for Yourself:
  • Log in and go to your SparkPage.
  • Scroll down until you see the “My SparkGoodies” heading (on the left side of your SparkPage, below your photos).
  • Click the link that says “Give Myself a SparkGoodie”
  • The next screen will show you how many SparkPoints you have to spend, along with the choices of Goodies and their respective prices. Click on the Goodie you want to purchase.
  • On the next page, you can attach a message with this Goodie (optional), and confirm that you want to buy it by clicking “Send Goodie” at the bottom of the page.
  • This SparkGoodie will now appear on your SparkPage under the “My SparkGoodies” heading.
We hope that you enjoy giving and receiving SparkGoodies! If you have questions, please post them in the Site/Technical Help forum.

  • its hard to get motivated , but maybe if the more things you did the more points you got and you can actually get something real with your points, it may motivate people to excercise , keep to diet etc more . - 4/9/2016 8:37:45 AM
  • Goodie points make little sense. We see photos of items for different values. Yet, the items are imaginary or virtual in this case. So, if I use 5000 points for an imaginary vacation, why would I do that? Paying 5 goodie points for imaginary trinkets to leave for a friend to boost them makes sense. The rest doesn't, and it is confusing. - 3/12/2016 11:55:00 PM

wow I'm not a little kid thanks for the gold star but what a waste. - 2/6/2016 4:36:23 PM
  • New here and was very disappointed to learn that sparkpoints have no real value. I agree with several other posts. I would rather you could use them towards something tangible.

I am not a computer whiz, and usually I am on a Kindle Fire. However I am glad I found Spark People. In three months I have lost 24 pounds so far. I do track food but not on line and do 4 hours a week of exercise classes at the community pool. My favorite is Aqua Zumba. I am 61, grandma of 3. I want to enjoy my grandchildren and a healthy life. - 10/30/2015 11:15:54 PM

I am so thankful for a free site designed to help me lose weight. All these contributors who are taking their time to help us are just awesome. Why are some people complaining because they don't get real freebees?? I have lost 11 lbs....and I'm SO THANKFUL!!! - 10/7/2015 7:56:27 AM

I Cant wait to use them, - 10/2/2015 10:59:43 AM
  • Agree with Allywinner. Don't you love not having to dish out $30.00 a month to be part of a diet team? Sparkpeople offers a lot and the virtual games are fun. Even adults like to play games or solitaire wouldn't be so popular. If it is not someone's cup of tea, that is ok too. Each person needs to find out what works for them. - 9/11/2015 9:34:34 PM

This is basically a free diet sight. Why should they give you real prizes when they are helping you for free. This is suppose to be fun. don't get you people

  • I really agree with most people here. The Sparkpoints could be used to earn small gifts--maybe just ones that can be used to get items for health. Coupons to health/sports stores, gift cards, pedometers or like SUKI103 said, points can turn to money to donate to charities. - 7/1/2015 7:05:00 AM

There is nothing "goodie" about this. I want to accumulate points from spinning the wheel and I don't even get those. I am an adult, not a child getting sticker on my paper for doing good work or making an effort. I never bothered to waste my time with "virtual rewards" Make the spark goodies have a tangible value. It is stupid and I feel cheated. - 6/2/2015 8:57:36 AM
  • I agree, if you could use points to reduce costs on some of the awesome products offered on the site to assist you in your weight loss journey they would be much more valued by us all..... - 5/12/2015 12:23:27 PM

These SparkGoodies are really not an incentive to me. If they had real value for real things I'd be far more interested. - 4/2/2015 12:14:29 PM

Love the site though. It has improved greatly (I used it many years ago) and the food tracker is way, way better. So thank you for your hard work! - 3/2/2015 4:31:53 PM
