See More: news, spread the spark,
Hello, dailySpark readers! I'm about to leave you for awhile. I'll be spending the next couple of days in Vancouver at the Nike Women's Media Summit. Nike is treating a bunch of writers and bloggers to a two-day seminar complete with workouts and interviews with Olympic hopefuls. Needless to say, when we were presented with the offer, the dailySpark jumped at the chance. (Keep your passport updated and nearby at all times just in case cool opportunities arise!)

I wish I could bring you all along, but I can do the next best thing. While I won't have time to blog throughout the trip (though expect a full update when I return and several related blog posts over the next few weeks), I will be updating my Twitter feed.

If you're interested in getting the inside scoop on my travels, follow me on Twitter: Click here for my feed.

I'll be back bright and early on Friday, and I've prepared a few blogs to keep you company in my absence!

Are you on Twitter? Have any questions you'd like me to answer?

I am on Twitter. I update once a day or less sometimes. What amazes me is that I have probably 20 followers and I only know maybe 5 of them. - 10/7/2009   3:09:12 PM

Stephanie, Welcome to Vancouver. I live in North Vancouver and believe me when I say it is The Best Place on Earth. I hope it does not rain while you are here. Enjoy your trip. - 10/7/2009   1:00:53 AM

Enjoy Stephanie! I participated in Nike & other studies/clinics back in the 90's while living in the Los Angeles area as a Fitness Instructor. I really enjoyed the exposure to new products & opportunities such events presented. Sometimes I came away with new shoes for the family. Other times we were approached to be part of a study for new products --- like the first Roller Blades & gear!
Enjoy your little getaway! - 10/6/2009   9:41:19 PM

I just returned from Vancouver. It is a wonderful walking city. I found quite a few things that were great to do and restaurants that were quite nice. Do you want travel hints? Or are you going to be too busy? If you have time, a car ride to Whistler is magnificent. - 10/6/2009   5:17:43 PM

Have a good time and maybe you can get them to fix the nike women's training website and iphone app. They have a great idea but the execution needs a lot of work,... too many bugs on the website and app for anyone to enjoy or to use. - 10/6/2009   5:06:51 PM

I have always worn Nike, but have always had a problem with a burning sensation in the ball (pad) of my foot right at my toes when I start walking for a long period or even the stationary bike. I went to one of the local sporting goods stores here, and they suggested I try a wide width shoe. So, the only wide width that was comfortable after walking around in different shoes for an hour was Asics. I bought the shoe - around $90.00, but still notice that I get that burning when I do my Leslie Sansone 4 fast miles or walk outside. Its to the point where half way through my workout I kick of the shoes and run in my living room barefoot - something I can't do outside. Do you have any ideas? Maybe someone at the convention would know. I'd love to hear some suggestions back. - 10/6/2009   3:52:04 PM
