You don't have to splurge on a gym membership to get ready for swimsuit season. Three simple moves can flatten your tummy while toning the muscles that support your back makes it easier to sit up straight. Click through for three good-for-you workouts (demonstrated by health editor Abby Cuffey), and do them daily for best results.

1. Wall Push-Ups
Stand about 3 feet away from a wall and lean forward, placing your hands shoulder-width apart against the wall. Bend your elbows and bring your chest toward the wall (your heels may come off the floor), then push away until your arms are straight again. Repeat 10 times.

2. Scapula Squeeze
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart. Bend your elbows and keep arms up, with palms facing out (to form a W with your upper body). Then pull your shoulders back and squeeze your shoulder blades together. Hold for 3 seconds and release. Repeat 10 times.

These are great exercises for building up core strength....and that is something that I definitely need to work on. - 4/30/2013   8:24:47 PM

I never thought about wall push-ups helping my back and abdominal muscles, but of course they would. Thank you! - 4/29/2013   10:39:38 PM

The problem I'm having is with the Wall push up, I knew I don't do them 3' from the wall so I actually measure and 3' is actually way too far for me. - 4/29/2013   4:58:04 PM

Unfortunately, this article is deeply misleading. In spite of the implication that doing a particular exercise can "flatten your tummy", you can't actually spot reduce fat in any way. To have a flat tummy, you need a lower body fat percentage, which is achieved through overall calorie deficits through a combined healthy lifestyle that includes healthy eating, strength training, and cardio. - 4/29/2013   4:36:34 PM

    I see two exercises not three! Where's 3? - 4/29/2013   3:03:29 PM

I agree with Stillflyin. I almost didn't read this article because the pose shown is not something I will probably ever be able to do because of physical limitations. The exercises in the article ARE moves I can do, so I'm glad I read it. I can do these without damage to myself. Thanks! - 4/29/2013   2:57:34 PM
Nice work out plan on this at three times a day. Thank you - 4/29/2013   2:27:36 PM

I almost didn't read this article because the picture is of an exercise that I not only can't do, but probably never will be able to do. Whomever ties picture to article needs to actually look at both!

The article is actually valuable. - 4/29/2013   1:15:26 PM
