'I've Formed A Lasting Bond with These Women'

Motherhood United Diverse April 2006 Mommy Team

Kathy (MASONS_MOMMY, formerly VEGASK):  "I first joined BabyFit in late August 2005, just a few weeks after finding out that I was expecting. This pregnancy was a complete surprise, so I had not done much research on pregnancy and/or childbirth. I had also joined some other similar Web sites but none compared to this site. I value what the other ladies on here have to say. If it weren't for them I would have driven my doctor absolutely crazy with all of the questions I had. Yes, I read some of the books out there, but it always is more reassuring to find out that what you are going through is normal. And since we were going through pregnancy at almost exactly the same stages, we could relate to what the others were saying. And it was so exciting when the countdown was really on to log on each day to see who had delivered. It still is wonderful to log on and hear how my friends and their new little ones are doing.
I just love this site!!!"

Cathryn: "I love having a place to go to compare what was/is happening in my own life. It has been a year now since I found the April Mommies group, and I still enjoying checking in on everyone. A lot of the time I don't have time to chat, but I still surf around to see what everyone is up too. It's a great place to see if what you're going through is "normal." And everyone is so supportive and is always ready to offer advice.
I totally enjoy BabyFit.com"

LUVMY2KIDS: "I joined early in my pregnancy and mostly just observed, but did post a few times. My due date was April 06. I had my baby boy arch 11, 3 weeks and five days early. About a month after his birth I really got involved with the BabyFit mommies. I think of myself as an April mommy because I am bonded to those woman. They rock. We send each other pictures almost every day. We talk about our daily lives, what's for dinner, the baby poop and spit up, how our husband, mother in laws, co workers or friends are driving us crazy. We celebrate everything from doctor appointments to our babies' development milestones. We offer support and encouragement though break ups, illnesses, cases of depression and everything else. Being a new mom or even being a new mom again with older kids is hard work and so draining, while being so exciting at the same time, and no one understands this like another mom in the same situation. I think the Web site is a life changing one, and I think most of us will be lifetime members. On a final note, I think the April moms are the strongest, most resilient, bravest and most beautiful group of moms, each and every one of them."
