What's your overall goal?
My overall goal is to continue to lead a healthy lifestyle for my wife, granddaughter and sister. I want to continue competing in duathlons and triathlons to stay in the best condition I can for them. Along with inspiring and motivating others to embrace a happy, healthy life, I enjoy sharing with others, especially on SparkPeople.
How is SparkPeople helping you get there?
SparkPeople keeps me accountable and focused on my goals. I use my SparkPoints as my daily checklist to success.
What's your biggest challenge right now?
My biggest challenge is to stay injury-free. I am achieving this through cross-training, strength training and yoga.
What advice do you have for someone who just joined SparkPeople?
Forget everything you've thought, heard or read in the past about "dieting." Most of it is obsolete. Select the "Learn" tab at the top of every SparkPeople page and start self-educating on the most up-to-date information. Ask questions in the endless forums available here on SparkPeople. Embrace a healthy lifestyle, start slowly, strive to be consistent and your progress will follow. The short-term goal is to attain your optimum weight. The long-term goal is to live a happy, healthy life. Never quit!
