This is really an eye opener. I use to eat all that junk, thankful I don't do candy much anymore. Never knew how fast calories added up with so little (so I thought).

Happy Resurrection Day to All!

OH MY WORD, I used to eat 1000-2000-even 3000 calories just in that stuff at Easter. Knowing calories in food has changed my behavior..... thankful!

WOW -- thanks for this article today -- it will definitely help me make better choices this weekend! Happy Resurrection Day, EVERYONE! HE IS RISEN! :-)

Jelly Beans are my favorite. I guess Jelly Belly's are the least damaging, but they have coconut as one flavor. I have spent a lifetime hating coconut in anything so I'll have to pass.

Thanks! I hope this will help!

Easter is the day, as every Sunday is, to celebrate the Ressurection of our Lord. It has, like everything else in society, become too commercialized. That said, I will have a little chocolate and a dessert on Easter day.

Life is to short not to have 1 Cadbury egg for Easter

No kids, no candy in the house. I used to have a Cadbury egg at Easter, it was the only time available, but I have given that up. If i was to have any candy it would be the Jelly Belly, 20 of those for 80 calories sounds reasonable but a lot of sugar.
But I won't .. I can eat a spoon full of honey and get more out of the calories.
I would rather have a hard boiled Easter egg.
Promoting Easter candy is nothing but commercial. Anything to get the kids hooked up on more sugar.

Fortunately for me I like candy, but I like it a little at a time. I take whatever I get and put it in the bottom drawer of the refrigerator (it is out of sight and cold). I am good about only taking a small serving out every so often and leaving the rest for later so that it lasts for a long time (as long as no one else finds my stash and wipes it out in a day or so).

No I'm really glad I took the jellybeans out of my shopping cart just 30 minutes ago!

My husband is diabetic, so we have no Easter candy in the house at all, and I didn't bake anything either. No point in it anymore. Enjoy what you can folks, once it's over, it's over....

You read my mind I was thinking today about the similarity of Easter and Halloween as far as the candy and treats.
