My husband is diabetic, so we have no Easter candy in the house at all, and I didn't bake anything either. No point in it anymore. Enjoy what you can folks, once it's over, it's over....

You read my mind I was thinking today about the similarity of Easter and Halloween as far as the candy and treats.

With this in mind I will be more aware of what and how much Easter candy I eat, if any. Sweets, especially chocolate are my weakness. I was a bit surprised at the jelly bean info, but when you think about it, they are almost like eating flavored sugar.

I am wondering why food has so much power over my life? What is it replacing?
It's time to take the power back and rediscover who I really am.

The one treat I adore at Easter is the Russel Stover's Marshmellow Easter Bunny. If I have anything, that will be it. I'm also going to look up licorice - love Good & Plenty once in a while. But it's also like erinlouise said...if I start eating sweets, it just makes me want them more. Better to say, one treat and be done. For me the important thing is to be conscious about it. If I feel deprived, then this is a "diet" rather than a lifestyle. If I enjoy a treat with self discipline & moderation then I've enjoyed it AND improved my self esteem and commitment to a "new" me. It's always a challenge! Happy Easter everyone.

None for me! A lot for my daughter. She is good, though, she will eat slowly and the candy will last for quite a while.
