![]() When I was told about this membership I looked at my brother like he was crazy. I swore I would never use the site; however, I was still on winter break from school, so I took some time to explore the BabyFit Web site. I found the discussion boards to be wonderful. The moms on the boards talked about everything. From concerns about their health, to talking about workouts and baby showers, the possibilities of topics were endless. I cannot remember what my first discussion board topic was, but I do remember I was nervous about posting a topic; however, as the responses began to come in I was encouraged to continue using the Web site. I began to realize that the BabyFit Web site really was beneficial to me. It got to the point, where whenever a question would come up that my friends could not answer, John would say, "Go post it on BabyFit." The people on BabyFit became as much as a support to us, as our friends and family. I would constantly tell my friends how much I loved the Web site. Knowing how I originally felt, some of them would laugh at me. My last posting before I had my baby was about a biophysical profile. I had to have this test because I had lost five pounds in one week. My doctor wanted to know if my amniotic fluid was low. I had never heard of the test, nor had anyone I knew, so I posted it on the site. I was terrified that something was wrong with my baby. I received a lot of encouragement and prayers from the members of BabyFit. The biophysical profile was scheduled for May 5. The biophysical profile revealed my amniotic fluid was low and that the baby was breech. My doctor had me come to the hospital right away to determine how low my amniotic fluid was. As a nurse strapped me to monitors, I kept complaining my back hurt. It turns out I was in labor. I had to have a c-section immediately. I was terrified that something was wrong with the baby. John called my mother and asked her to come to the hospital, so that he could have assistance in taking care of me and the baby. I was so tense about the surgery that I had to have general anesthesia. My mother and John were both allowed to be in the operating room with me. As I awoke from the anesthesia, I felt John's tears wetting my hair again. This time these were tears of joy. Three hours after being admitted into the hospital, our son, William Raymond, was born.
