Mmmm yum. Only problem is I get take out when we don't want to cook. Thanks for the recipes though. I am definitely going to try some of those. Report
I love this article. I was just thinking of chinese takeout, and yum I think I'm inspired to try something from this article instead. I love the healthier alternatives! Report
Like a previous poster, I was hoping to see different cuisine other than just asian dishes but that being said, I am anxious to try the crab rangoon. That is one of my favorites when we go to the chinese buffet yet I KNOW it's soooo not good for me!!! Report
The crisp baked egg rolls are delicious, they have my husband and kids approval. Report
I made the sesame chicken one once. Said my husband: "It tastes just like what you get at the Chinese place, except, you know, with this you can actually tell it's chicken." That's a good thing, I think. Report
We do Chinese take-out and I pay the price the next day with the sodium. Looking forward to trying some of these recipes. Report
Thanks for putting these together -- they sound YUMMY! Report
Thank you for such a great collection! I can't wait to try almost all of them! I love spicy recipes, especially ones that taste so good. Again, many thanks for putting this together! Good job! Report
I've already made the Thai Coconut Soup and it was incredible! Everything else sounds good too. I saved the other soup and the California Roll salad to try someday soon.

These recipes look great, will try one or two, as we love Chinese take-out, but can't afford all the calories and/or sodium! Report

My son loves crab Rangoon. I am going to make this for him. Report
You don't have to convince me about the inherent negatives in eating out. Now if only there was someone else at home to do the food prep! Report

I have never learn to cook. Maybe there is still hope. Report
These recipes look awesome, I can't to try them! Report
I'd love an easy recipe for hot and sour soup. I have one that has somewhere around 20 ingredients and since my husband won't eat it, I just don't make it all that often. Report
CSMNETC - I hope to do another takeout recipe round-up featuring more cuisines. In the meantime, check out the blog I wrote on pizza recipes by searching for "Skinny Pizza Recipes that are Fat on Flavor and Nutrition" on The DailySpark. Report

All of these recipes look sooo good, i can't wait to start making them for my family! Report
Sad to see that ALL the take-out ideas/ recipes are Asian dishes. For those of us who think that "take-out" should include favorites like pizza, burgers, & grilled sandwiches [or occasionally even fried chicken ;) ] these recipes are simply NOT great substitutes.! Report
To Lizabaker, thank you for posting your blog think. I will have to check it out. I'm always disappointed in the Asian recipes posted. I'm Chinese and grew up eating authentic Chinese food. I'm looking forward to seeing the kinds of recipes you have on your blog. Report
My husband is Chinese, and we almost never eat Chinese food out - we're always disappointed! I've learned to cook healthy Chinese food at home and share my recipes on one of my blogs - tangstein.wordpress.com - check them out and find out how good and how healthful this "bad" food can really be. Some recipes are "healthified" restaurant staples; others are real home cooking that you won't find in most American Chinese restaurants. Report
Thank you for the recipes. Report
OMG -- chinese and THAI are huge weaknesses, especially crab rangoon. I would just order multiple orders of that and nothing else if I weren't too embarrassed to do so! Report
