Cook 1/2 cup of oatmeal with 1 cup of water and 1 cup of milk. Your oatmeal will be huge in volume and be more filling!

Oatmeal is my fave. After cooking, I add a splash of fat free milk and top with fresh blueberries when in season, otherwise with raisins and cinnamon. An hour or so later, I go for fat-free yogurt or drink a glass of milk to get some protein.

I cook 1/2.cup old fashioned oats w/ 1 cup water, some cinnimon and a small chopped up apple for 3 and a half minutes in the microwave. After cooking I top it with a little milk and some Splenda. Very filling and delicious.

GEIZELFA, my basic recipe for oatmeal is 1/2 cup Old Fashioned Oats cooked in 1 cup of fat free milk. I put both into a small saucepan, cook at medium, and stir frequently. Once the mixture gets just to the boiling stage, I lower the heat and stir constantly until it gets to the consistency I like. Sometimes, once it gets just to the boiling stage I will turn the heat off completely and let it sit until it is to the consistency I like. In my opinion, making it with milk instead of water results in a creamier and sweeter oatmeal than when prepared with water. However you do have to stir and watch it because it can burn easily to the bottom of your pan. Once it is done to my liking, I will add different toppings. One of my favorites is 1 Tbs peanut butter, 1/2 apple diced, and a generous sprinkling of cinnamon.

Taking packets of instant oatmeal to work is great for an afternoon dose of good health.
I add hot water from the coffee appliance and use this "to take the hunger edge" away, just before going home. It works!

My favourite brekkie! Strawbs and blueberries, banana and cinnamon or low fat fromage frais- I look forward to it every day- fills me up till lunch and proper comfort food ; )
