I began practicing yoga when I turned 65: I was overweight and taking meds for high blood pressure and acid reflux. I began eating more mindfully and doing cardio and strength training along with yoga. Two-plus years later, I've lost fifty pounds and kept it off, I've been training to become a yoga instructor, and I've deepened my practice to gain a richer spiritual awareness. Namaste, indeed.

I recently started taking a Bikram yoga class. There is always a moment in class when I ask myself, why the EF am I here? I can't do this. But the moment always passes (sometimes its more than one "I can't" moment). No matter what happens in class, I always feel better after class. Never thought that I would say ... I Love Bikram Yoga!!

I have recently taken hot yoga. I leave there feeling like I am losing toxins and have done a fabulous thing for my mind & body. It is the best hour of the day, with the most dramatic results that I could hope for. I am very overweight and very stiff. The heat helps me move. I was concerned because I don't do heat well, but it is different than trying to work in the heat. It also makes me drink more water, another plus.
