Emotions can be tricky. At times they work in your favor, sometimes they do not. But being aware of your emotions is a good start to using emotions for beneficial reasons. Has there been a time when after an emotional outburst, you wonder how that happened or realized you had no control? Well than you were not aware of your emotions. By being aware you know you are upset, happy or sad while the emotion is present. Then, if you do not like the emotion you can try to do something about it. So if you’re aware you are ticked off, instead of throwing something or having road rage, you could try to calm yourself down. It might not always work, but being aware is a start.
