Motivational Quote - The true measure of an individual is how he treats a person who can do him absolutely no good.

SparkPeople's Comments

So how can a person do us absolutely no good? This is a little off; itís not that they cannot do us any good; they just cannot repay us for anything we do for them. A couple of examples are a senior citizen struggling to open a door, or a child who appears lost. These individuals cannot repay you if you help them. So, this leaves you two choices Ė help or ignore. If you ignore, no harm done, you continue on with your life. But if you choose to help, it could make all the difference in the world. Ever been lost or confused and a complete stranger came over and helped you out? Didnít it make you think highly of the human race, or put a smile on your face? Remember, it only takes a small gesture to make an impact on someoneís life.

Use the Golden Rule at all times: "Do onto others as you would have them do onto you"!

Awesome! If you have never done this before, try it. You'll be surprised how good you will feel. Life is about making a difference. Have you made a difference today?

I loved this and It is very important to do one thing a day that makes a difference, not only to yourself but to the people that you help.

Having a friendly conversation & even making a woman laugh while at the veterinarians office; not only made her feel better but myself as well. And here we both had sick pets! But whether it be there or just going through a beauty supply store & striking up a conversation has similar effects on most strangers. It's a good feeling for both parties , if even for just a moment . They say Laughter is the best medicine. I say kindness, humor are definitely a big part of that equation!

Like the last sentence "It only takes a small gesture to make an impact on someone's life" Walking my dogs will often smile and say hello to everyone we meet and the return smile and greeting makes the effort all worthwhile it may be the only word that person has heard that day and it cost me nothing
One day at a time

I love this one. I am the owner of group homes for autistic children. They have severe self help skills and many mal adaptive behaviors. Providing services for them is a faithful grace because there is no way they can ever respond with words to express their gratitude.

This is a great concept to put in practice.

one daily goal should be to do something for someone who does not appear to have any ability to do us any good.
We probably will quickly learn that is not the case , just our biased perception
