Spread the Spark on Social Networking Sites

-- By SparkPeople
You have probably heard the buzz surrounding “social networking” Websites like Facebook and Twitter. Even if you don't use these sites yet, you may have heard everyone from national news anchors to friends, celebrities and radio personalities plug their Facebook pages or Twitter accounts, asking you to add them as a friend or follow their updates online.

Did you also know that these sites offer some of the most powerful and effective ways to Spread the Spark? Since millions of people use these sites, they are a great way to introduce your friends, acquaintances and loved ones to SparkPeople so they can reach their goals!

The easiest way you can help Spread the Spark is to become a fan of our Facebook Page (if you have a Facebook account) and follow SparkPeople's updates on Twitter (if you have a Twitter account).

Don't forget to also become a fan of The Spark, our first ever book!

Even if you're not on Facebook or Twitter yet, you can create a free account on both sites and start Spreading the Spark to your friends by following the tips below.

More about Facebook
Facebook.com is a social networking site that allows you to keep up with friends; upload and share photos, links and videos; and learn more about the people you meet (including other SparkPeople members!). To get started you simply sign up for a free account, create a profile and start finding (and adding) your friends! Don't forget to “become a fan” of SparkPeople's official Facebook Page after you get started.

To learn more about getting started and using the Facebook, read their New User Guide. (To disconnect your SparkPeople and Facebook accounts, click here and then follow the instructions provided on that page.)

More about Twitter
Twitter.com is a "micro-blog" that people use to send and read brief updates known as "tweets." Your tweets are displayed on your Twitter profile page and are delivered to other members who have signed up to follow you. Once you have created your free account you can start by following SparkPeople to receive our updates, too!

To learn more about getting started on Twitter, click here.

Once you have some Facebook friends and Twitter followers built up, you can remind them about SparkPeople's great tools and resources just by sharing your favorite articles, videos or other features on these sites.

Happy networking and thanks for Spreading the Spark!
