Healthy Eating Horoscopes

Your Perfect Diet is in the Stars

Cancer: June 24 – July 23
Home and family are very important to the Cancer sign. And nothing says family like sitting down for dinner together every night. Trying to juggle preferences can be difficult, so have everyone choose a day of the week to plan the menu themselves. You might discover some great meal ideas that you never would have considered on your own. Security is also important to you, so keep your freezer stocked in case you can’t make it out to the grocery store. Your love of the water comes out in your preference for seafood. Be careful about dipping everything in melted butter and other high-cal sauces. A little lemon juice makes your catch both calorie-friendly and flavorful at the same time.

Leo: July 24 – August 22
A natural-born leader, the Leo can be a bit of a bully in the kitchen. Put down that wok and let someone else make dinner tonight. If you can’t relinquish control of the stove, at least let your family have a say in what you cook. Your charisma will come in handy the next time you’re at a busy restaurant—your server will be happy to keep your sauces on the side after you flash that charming smile. If you’re thinking about starting a weight loss challenge or group, your magnetism will draw lots of friends to come along too. While you pride yourself on being an individual, the team approach will help you keep your eating habits in check—it will be easier to resist that cake when you know others are expecting you to keep your diet resolutions.

Virgo: August 23 – September 22
Virgos are the analysts of the Zodiac, so use your ability to look at the big picture and figure out what’s holding you back from your weight loss goals. If you see a harmful pattern in your eating habits, make the effort to change. Instead of concentrating on losing that last ten pounds, focus on increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat every day. You might find that the weight comes off when you’re not thinking about it all the time, so cut yourself a bit of slack and learn to love yourself just the way you are. Since you absorb information easily, take the knowledge you already have in your head and apply it to your life. You know cookies aren’t going to help you reach your weight loss goals so develop an organized diet plan. Spend some time this weekend with a cookbook and plan your meals for the week so you won’t be tempted to order takeout again when you’re rushed for time.

  • I am so disappointed that a site that purports to offer sound scientific advice would offer a horoscope article without any disclaimers. I can only hope this was an April Fools' joke but again, it's not marked as such. What's next, an "Eat for Your Blood Type" suggestion? How about "What Your Shoelaces Say About Your Diet Plans"??? - 10/26/2014 12:22:21 PM
  • Don't read the horoscope anymore. - 10/26/2013 11:00:35 AM
  • Timothy, how about don't read articles that you find so offensive. No one is forcing you to read this article. JUST SMILE, Buddy. Its just for fun. - 10/30/2012 2:28:53 AM
I am a Virgo and I found the comments to be true to my sign. I don't conduct my life around my horoscope of course, but I did find the comments to be true and accurate pertaining to myself. - 8/5/2012 1:49:07 PM
  • AAAAAAgggggghhhhh

Horrorscopes ar just about the stupidest thing to post on a site that purports to have a common sense scientific approach to fitness and weight losss. I cannot think of one thing in the maistream that is less scienific than horrorscopes.

We must kill these stupid things once and for all.

And anyone who comments one their teaits based on the date of their birth is ... I'm going to say it ... STOO-PID and they need a podcast that tells them to breathe in/breath out.

Sorry, I'm going all Keith Olberman on this and foaming at the mouth.

God this is a stupid article! - 2/24/2012 9:15:46 AM
  • You guys who are criticizing the article are taking this way too seriously. Horoscopes are just for fun! - 9/25/2011 11:39:48 PM
OK - I don't think that the horoscopes for fitness or food were dead on, but the fitness stuff was interesting - and I think the advice for all signs is interesting in general, so I'm going to give it a go..... I'm a Capricorn who is "according to those in the know" more like a Saggitarius - go figure!
Anyway, all good fun and advice! - 7/26/2011 10:38:20 PM
  • Not to be disrespectful, but this is totally inaccurate! I don't believe in Horoscopes, but it can be fun to read knowing they are so general they could apply to anyone. For me, Pisces, it is completely false in every regard! Sorry!! - 7/21/2011 3:05:09 PM
  • I am a Virgo with a Leo rising and found both the healthy eating and fitness horoscopes to be right on with me. I am going to send these on to my daughter as she fits both of her signs. - 7/21/2011 11:28:13 AM
  • Meh - I'm not really into horoscopes, I've never fit my sign (Sagitarius/Capri
corn cusper) as I'm very much a creature of habit who likes structure. This is why SP appeals to me so much, as it really makes me feel like I can plan my weightloss, be in control of my own destiny, etc. I found some tips I liked in Libra though :) - 9/16/2010 9:39:47 AM
  • Horoscopes usually don't fit me, but this is exactly right. FUN! - 8/2/2010 5:11:05 PM
  • interesting...I feel exactly the opposite for this article as I did the astrology exercising article...Cancer (me) was right on here; love seafood, especially dipping crab meat in melted butter (yummy! lol) and I'm all about family sit down dinners (and breakfast!). However, I found Scorpio (hubby) to be repetitive of the exercise article and less about diet. Anyway, I enjoyed reading both! - 7/22/2010 3:09:45 PM
  • I read both Leo and Libra. Leo was more accurate for me on this, especially for the fitness one. Leo is my rising sign, and Libra is my sun sign (and moon sign & about 5 other planets.) - 7/21/2010 5:05:09 PM
  • I am a libra, my husband is a cancer. How amazing these forecasts are. I was really amazed. - 7/21/2010 5:02:47 PM
  • Check out your moon sign, if you know it... rules what you like to eat and how. Dead on for my moon sign.

    I was dreading the ever-popular Cancer-in-a-nutsh
ell nonsense about how I should love cooking and gardening and family. I can't STAND any of that - would rather stick a fork in my eye. So this was surprisngly on, about the seafood and all. Love seafood, of all kinds.

    Fun article!
