Official Rules for the SparkPeople Before and After Photo Sweepstakes
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR BE COMPENSATED.
 
ELIGIBILITY: The SparkPeople Before and After Picture Sweepstakes for individuals (the “Promotion”) is open only to permanent legal U.S. residents physically residing in the fifty (50) United States of America and the District of Columbia.
 
Employees of SparkPeople, Inc. and affiliated entities, and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children, siblings and their spouses) and individuals living in the same household as such employees are ineligible. This Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
 
HOW TO ENTER: The entry period begins on Monday, July 16, 2012 and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday, July 30 2012 ("Promotion Period").
 
To participate and qualify for compensation:
 
Submit two (2) photos of yourself: one before you started SparkPeople and one after you reached your fitness and health goal.
 
Photo guidelines:
  • All photo submissions must be in focus and of high resolution. If submissions are blurry and hard to see, we can’t post them, and therefore, you may be disqualified.
     
  • Minimum photo dimensions for entry are 600 pixels  (height) by 300 pixels (width). Jpg or png photos are both acceptable formats.
     
  • We prefer full-body shot photos, but will also accept waist-up photos. Note that we cannot accept photos that include anyone other than you. Photos must be family-friendly.
     
  • If submissions do not meet these criteria, they may be subject to disqualification.
 
 
Email the photos to spsuccess2012@gmail.com, subject line: Before and After Picture Sweepstakes.
 
Attach your photos, and include the following info in the body of your email:
  • Username
  • Name
  • Age
  • Hometown
  • How long have you been on SparkPeople?
  • Current Weight
  • Starting Weight
  • Goal Weight
  • Why did you decide to sign up for SparkPeople to help you achieve your goals?
  • Which SparkPeople tool has helped you the most throughout your journey?
  • What has been the biggest obstacle you have overcome and how did you do so?
  • How do you plan to continue leading a healthy lifestyle?
  • What advice can you share with other members about reaching their dreams to lead a healthier, happier life?
 
Each member may submit one entry.
 
NOTE: By entering the Before and After Picture Sweepstakes, SparkPeople has permission to use your photos/story for marketing purposes, including being featured on the SparkPeople homepage.
 
JUDGING: Each eligible entry in the Promotion will be judged by Sponsor, whose decisions are final and binding on matters relating to this Promotion. Photos chosen to be used on SparkPeople's websites will be selected based on a combination of factors including: photo quality, success story, and completion of the accompanying questionnaire. 
 
COMPENSATION: All entries have a chance to:
  • Win one of five $50 Amazon gift cards
  • Be interviewed for a blog post on the dailySpark
  • Have their before and after pictures featured on the SparkPeople homepage.
 
All prizes will be awarded. Odds of being chosen depend on the total number of eligible entries received. All taxes are the responsibility of the recipients. Recipient will be required to provide his/her social security number. Recipient is advised to consult with his/her accountant, lawyer or other financial adviser regarding specific tax implications. No substitution or transfer of compensation by a recipient is permitted. Limit one selection per person/household/email address.
 
NOTIFICATION: Recipients will be notified by e-mail. Recipient will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release and where legally permissible, a Publicity Release within 14 days following the date of first attempted notification. Failure to return the documents within 14 days of receipt will result in forfeiture and Sponsor will compensate the next ranking entrant.
 
GENERAL CONDITIONS: By participating in this Promotion and submitting an entry, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decision of the Sponsor. By entering the Promotion, Recipient agrees to waive any and all claims against the Sponsor, its affiliates, employees, agents, and representatives for personal injury or loss that may occur from the participation in this Promotion or from the receipt or use of any prize, and grant to Sponsor the right to publicize such Recipient's name and/or likeness without additional compensation or consideration unless prohibited by law. Sponsor, its affiliates, employees, agents and representatives, or any telephone network or internet service providers are not responsible for incorrect, inaccurate transcription or loss of entry information for any reason whatsoever. If, in the Sponsor's exclusive judgment, this promotion becomes compromised in any way, Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw the promotion offer, cancel any method of entry, to void any entries submitted fraudulently or select recipients from all eligible entries received prior to act that compromised the promotion. By entering, entrants acknowledge compliance with these Official Rules including all eligibility requirements.
Any attempt to deliberately damage the content or operation of this Promotion is unlawful and subject to legal action by the Sponsor or its agents.
 
In the event of dispute, electronic entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address at the time of the Promotion. The authorized account holder is the person to whom the applicable internet service provider or other organization (such as business or educational institution) has assigned the e-mail address.
