  • Awesome! I do that myself much of the time. Don't forget to ask how they prepare things and if they can alter the prep to make it healthier (no oil or butter, etc.)
Prior research and (politely) asking for what you need will spell success in dining out healthily.

  • I do the same thing. It just sucks when some restaurants don't provide the nutritional information we all need. I have even written my favorite restaurant several times trying to get them to add nutrition to their website. I, personally, think that all restaurants should be required by law to provide at least the calorie count of each food they serve. I think it would change the way everyone, even the people who aren't trying to lose weight, chooses the meals they eat.

  • Most restaurants are glad to make substitutions for lower fat, lower calorie items. Especially if you are a regular customer and the Wait Staff has watched your progress over the months. - by LJCANNON
Thats a great tip. I have been doing that for A few months and I know exactly what I will eat and the calories. Its a great way to stay on track. - by GOLFGIRL111
  • The online menu's help me a lot! If we have a hard time deciding where to go (Because I can tend to be VERY indecisive :() then I will look up the nutritional info and find a place based on the healthier choice items. Makes my temptation for unhealthy food just a little more resistable! - by MICMANSELL
  • I'm always checking the menu for healthy stuff when we eat at a restaruant. When we do "fast food" I also try to pick healthy stuff. Always checking the "food chart" they have hanging up. - by EUNIQ3
