Recycle Your Old Clothes

you are going to grow out of some beloved and well worn clothes on your journey. reuse them in the form of creating blankets and pillows instead of giving them away or stacking them up in the closet (which gives you the option of wearing them again which you don't want!)

More Information:

you can use a sewing machine or sew by hand. you can also preserve the life of some clothes by taking them in at the seams if you find you are growing out of things too quickly, it keeps you from purchasing all new stuff every size. busy hands can't put food in your mouth ;)

    Very cool! You must have a lot of patience if you can make blankets from them. Wow!

    I'm afraid patience isn't one of my virtues. I'd be more inclined to make pieces smaller, like turning an old jacket into a dog coat, shopping bag or a coat for a toddler. Unfortunately, I don't have a dog or a toddler, and I've got about 30 cloth shopping bags already. I'll have to think about this...

    I used to avoid throwing out clothes because I thought that I paid good money for them, or they still had some life left in them, or maybe I would lose/gain weight and wear them again. But some where I read that when people go to a second hand store they are hoping to find something nice, so when I donate something that I feel is nice, I am reminded of the joy I'm giving someone else. - by BETSYANN6
