Secrets of Success

I hit a plateau with my normal exercise routine. I walked a few miles per night for a few nights and the weight just dropped right down.

More Information:

It took four nights of walking anywhere from 3 to 4 miles per night.

  • Walking around the neighborhood in the evening before dark is good for me, good for the dog, and relaxing. It's a quiet time, pretty time of day when others are out walking their dogs, too. Since starting this last week, I feel better and the plateau is cracking. It is a start. - by LONGJOURNEYHM2
  • I have Fibromyalgia and in pain most of the time, but I'm up every morning at 7:30 am, walking and yes when the pain begins to increase, I push through. It can be done and the reward is wonderful. emoticon - by YDEBOSE60
  • I am pledging to get up half an hour earlier to walk the 40 mins to work and again home. I know I will feel so much better currently I walk home about three times a week hubby passes my place of work so he drops me off and I walk home but more often than not he will spot me walking home and pick me up. A few times I have waved him on telling him its cruel when he stops I need to walk as I sit at a comouter all day long. The other habit I must do is to walk around every hour.

Its so easy to get in the car especially when its raining most mornings. When I think of the time to go to the gym and give up an evening going there walking to and from work will not impinge on my evenings they will be free for hobbies etc.

  • I had to give up spinning because something happened to my ankle. I don't love walking, but it's the only game in town right now. THe only draw back is that I have to get in my car and head to the gym. They have a great walking track. I have to push myself. I am up to 1 mile or so right now. Just taking it slow. - by LOCOLOGO1
  • I agree and have proven that walking does drop weight and isn't harsh on joints. - by SHADICAR
