Old Fashion Oatmeal For A Couple Of Days



I make big batches of Oatmeal for the whole week. I boil 4 cups of water while soaking 2 cups of Oatmeal in water. When the water starts to boil, I put the soaked oatmeal in the boiling water, turn down the heat and let it boil for 5 minutes. Then I have ready oatmeal anytime I need some .

  • I do this too only I use the long cooking steel cut oats. I make 4 servings at a time let it cool, refrigerate and it is easily divided into 4 even portions. I add a little water before reheating. After reheating my daily portion, I add raisins, honey and some cut up raw almonds. Hmmm Good. - by PJSTIME

    This is something I do quite often using my small crockpot. When it's cooked, I divide it into individual serving portions. I have also found several recipes that list cooked oatmeal as an ingredient, so by preparing it ahead of time, I always have some available whenever needed. - by SHASUN
