Dont Beat Yourself Up

Yes, staying positive is very important but one thing over the years I have learned is not to judge yourself by someone else achievements. Be genuinely happy for them. I remember trying to figure out why (in a specific diet class) I would adhere to the diet exact, exercise and then came the weigh in.. One would lose 3 lbs, one 2lbs and me either none or 1 lb. Oh so discouraging. I began trying to do "tricks" into losing... wow that back fired. I gained. Tried skipping meals, eating less, though I knew that was a no, no. I was angry with me. I bet that angry hormone was having a party!!
Clothing shopping was a nightmare, nothing looked good. Some of you may have been there. Then I felt worse and why, why, why? was I not losing. I can to this day tell you the names of the people who were losing. I'd think what are they doing that I am not? So many things have to do with weight lose and staying angry is a sure way to keep it on. Finally one day I decided I needed to keep following as it was written, I found spark people, and began the infamous journalising, the challenges, the one day at a time, the NOT THINKING I WAS A FAILURE The not comparing myself to others and lo and behold, if I over ate one day I was absolutely back on it the next... Learning the difference between healthy foods and pure junk. I made it a game and positivism was the name of the game. I am now able to lose and be happy as I go along. Pleased with progress and not angry if I slip up OCCASIONALLY... I find it is a matter of mind over matter and attitude . At least for me and that does not mean it is the same for you. Each of us is different but mainly do not BEAT YOURSELF UP when you have a temporary slip YOU CAN DO IT... YOU SURE CAN DO IT..
