When I'M Just Too Tired To Exercise

When I think I'm just too tired to exercise, I commit to do 10 minutes of light exercise. If I'm tired after 10 minutes, I'm allowed to quit. But 95%+ percent of the time I feel better after 10 minutes and go on to get a good workout.

  • Yes, yes, yes! This works! I know I can handle anything for 10 minutes; if after that I still don't want to--I probably shouldn't be. That's only happened a couple of times over the years. - by JOYINKY

  • I have started doing more exercise at home and will sometimes just do a few minutes at a time. 60 jumping jacks here, 30 squats there, put on some music and "dance" around there....then it all adds up to not doing nothing! - by 1LAZYCOOK
I use that technique with so many other things in my life -- e.g., cleaning my kitchen, sorting papers, getting music practising done. I tend to think of "exercise" as going to the gym or the pool, but why not 10 minutes at home? It's a lot better than nothing! Thanks! - by METAMORPH2010
