Secrets of Success

Ask Yourself The Hard Questions.. Every Time.

When I feel like I really want a Coke or other treat, or like it just doesn't matter or nothing's working, I try to put it in perspective. I ask myself, "Is this treat really worth so much to me right now that it's worth not meeting my current goal?"

Really puts it in perspective when you think about having your Coke vs. fitting into a wedding dress or swimsuit, having the ice cream vs. keeping your sugar/cholesterol down, etc.

Or compare it to something else you might really love to weigh how much you want it. For example, my friend asked if I wanted a piece of cake the other day and I looked at it and I really wanted it but then I considered the calorie content and thought "Man I could eat about 5 cookies (which I absolutely love) instead of this cake." It makes you realise that I didn't want the cake as much as I thought I did. - by SIMONE211
