Secrets of Success

There Are Better Experiences Than Junk Food!

I'm trying to tell myself- Food is not an experience I'm going to miss. There will alway be another piece of chocolate, another burger. I'm not mising anything by not eating it this time, but I *am* missing a lot by being too out of shape participate in the things I want to do. I would rather have those experiences than the brief pleasure of eating junk food. I don't want to substitute food for fun anymore.

  • I agree with this fully! I feel like up until this point, I have always put food before anything else. I think because I have been overweight most of my life and food has always been there, it is easier to turn to food than anything else. I am a socially active person, and I love going out with my friends, but not surprisingly, most of our visits revolve around food. We go out to dinner or meet and get coffee. My focus is to be more active *regularly*, as my time at the gym is usually sporadic and therefore not effective. I hope once I am more comfortable with my body, my friends and I can expand the activities that we take part in together, and I can have a more confident, fulfilling life. - by OPPORTUNITYLF
