  • If you are going to cut them in half why not buy smaller apples. I look for fruits in the smaller sizes so that I don't have to cut them and try to save half. The bagged fruits such as apples and oranges work well for this purpose because they are usually much smaller. The variety is much better now with the bagged fruits now than it was several years ago. emoticon - by WSHAYES1
    I think this works sometimes. Bananas, in particular, do not save well to the next day. But I'll sometimes cut apples in half, especially if they are super big size like honeycrisp, and put half in a tuperware container; the exposed area gets a little brown but not much. - by CATHEITE
