Secrets of Success

A Little Bit Is Better Than None

A little bit of butter - 1/2 pat on 1/2 of an English muffin, a few thin slivers of cheddar cheese - less than 0.5 oz on a fried egg, a few cranberries and 1 tb of chopped walnuts on a salad, seasoned rice wine vinegar with red pepper flakes instead of traditional salad dressing. Little things keep the color and flavor going but the calories down and contribute to permanent healthy changes that I can enjoy the rest of my life. No deprivation, no dieting, no "NOs." Stress free! emoticon

    Hi Texas Light!
I am so with you on this tip. If I have the colors, textures and flavors, I am satiated. I could eat a truck load of bland food and leave dissatisfied. Good point. emoticon - by REALMSH
I agree with you. I believe that one reason so many of us give up on losing weight is because we don't enjoy what we are eating.

I went to a birthday party yesterday. Instead of denying myself I had a taste of everything I liked including a small piece of cake.

If I want real butter or mayo I use a half serving which I find to be enough for me.

One slice of bread instead of two. Using a smal plate instead of a big one.

I'm actually impressed with myself these days because these type of choices are beginning to come naturally
