Baby Steps

It is important to remember that being overweight or obese didn't happen over night and it takes building new habits, one at a time to over come. Fast break goals are those "baby steps" that we need. Pick something that you know will help make a difference and whittle at it--after a couple of weeks, add on a new goal to the first one. (If you try to change everything at once, it will probably burn you out and you will "give up.") emoticon

More Information:

I started out with 10 minutes of activity (walking) a day, eating 3 servings of produce, and tracking at least one meal daily. That turned into 5-6 servings of produce which took over for servings of junk food, at least a 2 hour workout in the pool each day, and tracking all my food and activity. emoticon

  • When I get off of my plan or things aren't going right, I revert back to this idea. My baby steps can be more like kid steps now, but I must remember the foundation to my program. I am doing okay and I know that others can do it too. Best wishes everyone!! emoticon - by ENUFF81020
  • This is the best for me. When I try to do everything, I get discouraged. If you start this and gradually increase whatever it is that usually stumps you, it is easier to get back in the groove. - by FUNGRANNY72
