Greek Yogurt



If you have trouble keeping your protein intake high enough and in the right proportion to your carb intake, try greek yogurt. It's much higher in protein than regular yogurt, has a smooth tangy taste, an be used as a substitute for sour cream and is available in flavors, too.

    Greek yogurt is so thick and creamy--it's basically the only kind of yogurt I purchase now. My typical breakfast is plain, fat-free Greek yogurt topped with some granola/dry cereal, fresh fruit, and ground flaxseed. (Sometimes I'll have it with oatmeal rather than the granola--especially in the winter.) I also enjoy the flavored varieties as an afternoon or evening snack.
