Secrets of Success

Personal Training

The best thing I ever did was get a personal trainer. Paying the money and having an appointment made me go and has helped me to develop the habit of exercising. I highly recommend it as a way to get started. Even if you can't afford alot of sessions, get what you can afford. As a lifelong has made all the difference in my weight loss journey.

I found a personal trainer at our local university. She's a graduate student and charges $12/half hour of weight training. I do 5-10 minutes of warm-up on the treadmill and after our session do 20-30 minutes more on the treadmill. I do "intervals" which means I really mix up the inclines or pace, cool down a bit and do it again. I'm 54 and was very sedentary for the past few years. I can't believe I know what an Interval is! I've lost 46 pounds since October, 5-1/2 months. emoticon - by LORAKFROG
