Research Fitness Dvds Before Buying

I highly recommend reading the customer reviews on Amazon and Collage Video before purchasing fitness dvds. Collage Video is really helpful because they have video clips so that you can preview the instructor's style, voice, etc.

  • Another thing I do is check workout DVDs out of the local library to try before I buy and it is FREE. I am guessing they can be rented some places too.
I LOVE the Leslie Sansone Walk Away The Pounds DVDs and they have 1, 2 & 3 mile walks online that you can do right now. So you can do it right in front of your computer in as small as 4 foot square of floor.
    them out! - by THENEWKAREN
I agree, you can spend lots of money on videos you can't use or don't like. I have found several at yard sales & thrift stores-that way if I don't like them, I'm not out a lot.
Also, has some you can try out, they used to have the Walk Away The Pounds video on there-I've done it several times and then went and bought others once I found I liked it.

  • Netflix has workout dvd's on their "instant watch" section. So if you happen to be subscribed to you can see entire workout dvd's (without purchasing or additional cost) anytime you want and as often as you want. - by CHOCOHOLICLADY
Also if you have Comcast On Demand Exercise TV you can view and do the workout before deciding to buy. I found one that really irritated me and I am sooo glad I did it first. - by THINMAMAWARD
I agree on that, just reading the package at a store doesn't really give you the whole picture. Most of them make it sound like anyone can do the work out and then you get it home and find that for example the level of the work out is really for more advanced people. - by JBASKETT
Great ideas here. Does anyone have suggestions for 50-minute seated DVDs available in Canada?
My knees need replacing, so I'm limited in what I can do. - by DEBORANN
  • I check online for info around DVDs. I also try to search for DVDs that are similar to my favorites which will give me some options. I find lots of great deals at Marshalls. I have one down the street from my home and they carry great DVDs for CHEAP!! I do share the ones that I don't like with friends who may prefer them. - by ME40ME
  • I like my Leslie Sansone DVD's that feature her only. Also there is a DVD by Denise Austin that pretty good and it's called Blast Away in which you can do 1,2,3, miles just like Leslie's.

Maybe you could donate the ones you don't like to your library. What doesn't work for you may be perfect for someone else. - by SKINNYMINI2011
  • I like the Richard Simmons dance tapes mostly because Heavy people are doing them with Richard and when I see them doing it - then I say I can do it too. Hugss - by GOLFINSUNSHINE
  • I looked for a long time to find a DVD and I wish I had read this before I paid the money for the one I bought. I will be able to do it but had I looked at it first I do not think I am up to using it.
I am going to call my library to see if they have any. Never thought to look when I was in there YESTERDAY! - by NORASPAT
  • I love the ones on here....and Leslie Sanson.... i use Comcast OnDemand for Leslie's right now and I have been watching some of the biggest loser ones to see if its something I wanna tackle right now. I have a good friend that is doing PX90 and seeing his results has peaked my interest in them. He was is decent shape before and said he loves to hate it LOL so idk how i would fair but I am ready to give em a try... I think LOL emoticon - by BKTSGRL1435
  • I will remember to check these sites out first. Thanks emoticon - by OZARKMARY
I shop for a lot of my WO DVDs on ebay or amazon in the new or used section. That way if I'm not crazy about it I don't feel guilty $$ if I pass it on to someone who may enjoy it. emoticon Also I workout to Fit TV that way you can get some variety and check out different instructors. I agree with reading the reviews on amazon that helps a lot. - by TN10MILER
