Secrets of Success

Spend A Few Minutes Each Day To See Results

Each night before bed, my family spends a few minutes cleaning or straightening something in the house. Sometimes papers get filed, sometimes dishes get washed, sometimes a load of laundry goes in. Now my cleaning time is cut down because each day I spend less than 30 minutes doing some cleaning!

More Information:

Small things that take a few minutes:
-cleaning the baseboards in one room
-dusting two ceiling fans
-hand washing dinner dishes
-wiping shelves in the fridge
-starting a load of laundry
-emptying all the wastebaskets
-taking one pile of "junk" and putting it all in the correct places!

  • I am going to try this with my fiance, truth is he does more than I do so this falls on me to kick it in gear and help out more. - by TWISSY12
I love this idea! I have a hard time getting my teenagers to help me clean, I think because they feel that it will take "FOREVER" (their words). As a single parent I just get exhausted trying to keep up with it all and/or arguing with them about it all night. My kids would definitely buy into doing 10 minutes a day, particularly if I let them choose what they want to do. Thanks so much for sharing! emoticon - by DISCOVERLLH
  • Great Idea! Wish my kids would go for it.

  • I find it so discouraging to clean and then to get up or come home to everyone's stuff left all over the house. This will be hard for me to do as I usually go to bed before my 20 and 17 year old, but I think I will give it a try! - by NEWSUE89
Good ideas. I can do this :) - by READYTOMOVE39
I am one who tries to make sure the kitchen is clean every evening--it starts my morning off on a good note when I walk into a neat kitchen with the dishes done, the sink empty and the counters uncluttered. I also try and do a load of laundry every evening, which gives me a headstart on the next day's "to do" list. - by SHASUN
  • What a great idea. I live alone but if my family were here I would do this. - by TOTHEFUTURE1
