Secrets of Success

Unlikely Motivation

Having tanning attached to my gym membership totally helps motivate my gym activity. If I'm going to tan, may as well work in a work out. Even if it's just for 30 minutes. I always think, "If I just spend 45 minutes at the gym a few times a week no matter what I do, I have to come out looking better than I did before." emoticon

You might want to look into the health effects of tanning, I am super happy that it has worked for you though!! - by PEACHESBTS

  • Tanning can be addictive, in addition to being dangerous. - by GYNOSAUR
  • Yeah, I'm the same way. My gym offers free tanning with the membership. i also use the tannning as an insentive. I feel it helps with the relaxing of sore mucles after a workout. If my gym offered and spa I'd do that too. My husband is my onw personal cheering team. And I love when he hugs me and his arms meet in the back. emoticon - by PIRATESS1
  • Maybe you can find another incentive to go to the gym. Try the whirlpool or the sauna. Tanning ages the skin and increases your chances for skin cancer. - by SLEEKKITTY
  • Tanning may be as bad as not exercising. - by BLOOM49

  • No NUTS about it. Any incentive to get a person in the gym is an asset.

HOWEVER, if your prime motivation to go to the club is the tanning than aren't you defeating your membership dues???

My daughter does somewhat the same as you. She goes to her local "Y". First she works out and every two minutes (the time is arbitrary to your abilities & endurance) she earns herself one minute across the street in her regular spa. Tanning, massage, the roots, manny-peddy, her choice.

According to my son-in-law it's her & her w/o's that keep her beautiful. To her it's the spa. And she knows she earned it. - by JVANAM
