Make The Most Out Of Going To The Grocery.

I have begun to wear my walking shoes when I go to the store. I find that then I am more likely to take the long way around the store or walk the aisle even if I don't need anything. Last night I ended up walking for a good hour while doing my shopping. Fitness minutes....CHECK!

  • I park my car a great distance from the grocery store and walk too and back. My grandchildren when they are here quarrel. Thanks for sharing. - by AMBER461
I never thought of walking to the store until reading your comment. This has definitely sparked me to walk to the grocery store that is around the corner. I always drive but I will purchase a cart and use it at least one day a week. May be twice a week after I get going. - by LADEEBIKER1

  • I usually park as far away as i safely can to get in some extra steps. Walking up & down each aisle(even if you don't want anything on that aisle) helps too. - by PROPMAN1

Good idea. I love exercise ideas that fit naturally into my life. For instance, I prefer to walk to an event rather than take a walk around the neighborhood. - by VAINVT
  • That is what I used to do...
But, now just being able to go in the store, shop, and check-out is sometimes more than I can do. emoticon - by PYNETREE

I end up doing the same thing, it is one of the ways I get my walking done.

  • I've done this a few times, mainly, making sure I haven't missed anything or to see some new sights or new locations. you know, the grocery stores tend to move products every now and again! emoticon for sharing! - by SUNSET09
  • I live about a mile from my grocery store. When I know it's not going to be a big haul, I take my toddler in her stroller and walk it and then I get a two mile(ish) walk. Feels great knowing I accomplished more than just shopping. :) - by SCOTIANRUNNER
