Eat It Later



I do not like to continually deny or deprive myself of forbidden foods. I fool myself by saying that I can have that treat AFTER I eat my meal, if I am still hungry. After eating a healthy meal, I am full and satisfied and do not crave the sweets. I know I am deceiving myself, but it works for me.

  • Awesome! I remember when a friend of mine joined AA to stop drinking and struggled with the thought of never having a drink again in her entire! That's a long time! So she told herself, "In 10 minutes I can have a drink..." then when the time came, she'd say the same thing. Eventually it became hours, then weeks that she'd say she could have a drink. Eventually she didn't have to trick herself anymore, and she's been sober for 12 years now.
