Shoes In Car

This summer, I started to keep a pair of tennis shoes in my car. That way, if I ever want to go for a walk and don't have the right shoes with me, there's a pair available in my car.

That is an excellent idea. I aggravated my sciatic nerve one day by deciding to walk in a pair of shoes that were comfy, but not long walk worthy. It put me on a cane and took weeks of PT to heal and get back to moving again. I am due a new pair of shoes. My old are still good for walking. They will be perfect for putting in the car. • Awesome reminder of how to combat the "no shoes" excuse. I remember when I would wear my gym shoes to work and change into heels.

  • Great idea.....I try to keep extra gym clothes with me too. If there's an opportunity for an unplanned workout and I'm not dressed properly, I'll be prepared with my extra clothes. - by GWINNER1

  • I keep my gym bag in the car all the time, plus I keep a pair of walking shoes and at least 2 pairs of socks in my desk drawer, since we have a walking path around my building.

Of course, the weather hasn't cooperated the last week (dangerously frigid sub zero temps the past 10 days)... but there's always a Plan B, C, D... - by KLEE957

Great tip. We keep an older pair of sneakers, plus old sweat pants or shorts, T-shirts and sweatshirts in the car, along with old towels. If we are passing near the Y or a park where we like to walk and find we have enough time to take a 30, 45, or 60 minute walk or workout, we are prepared, even if we hadn't planned ahead. Often we can wear what we have on, but for a workout at the Y, dress slacks or stiff jeans don't work very well. - by STORMY724
