Secrets of Success

Email What You Eat At Work

Whenever I eat something unplanned at work, I immediately send my personal email account a quick note describing what I ate. It could be as small as two chocolate Easter eggs, or as big as a slice of cake (odd that it's never vegetables!). When I get home, I enter it into my nutrition tracker.

More Information:

This keeps me from forgetting to record small nibbles here and there into my nutrition tracker. Sometimes, it's the small things that add the most calories (those two chocolate Easter eggs totalled more than 100 calories!).

  • This is a great idea! I try to right it down but then sometimes I forget to take it home from work this way I wouldn't have to remember my list. Thanks for the idea. emoticon - by GINGERWILSON
This is a cool idea. Thank you. I love the comment about it never being vegetables, I can't remember a little dish of snap peas on the counter in the office or getting some mini tomatoes from a student as a gift. Hmmm... - by LIFFER
  • I carry a pad with me. Because I was afraid I was missing stuff during the day. Some right here at home. I don't work; but, this is a similar idea.

Another similar idea is to take a picture with your camera phone, Of coarse, this pause my allow you to decide not to eat it. I like the Covey statement "It is the pause between stimulus and response that allows us to be human." I try to make mine as long as possible. - by BUCKHOLDT
