Secrets of Success

Use Your Public Library

Your public library has a wealth of free information.
You'll save money by not buying books you might only read once and can purchase the "keepers" like The Spark emoticon emoticon after previewing them. Good for the environment and less clutter too.

Love my library. We have branches all over our area tied to one public library so I can request a book from my branch and it is brought from another to my local branch. I have joined a couple of private libraries also. I use my Sony e -reader to download also. - by JUGGLER63
I have recently discovered my love for the library. I don't like to have time limits when it comes to books because my schedule varies and I don't always have time to read every day or to be driving to the library. However, through my Sony E-book, I can download/check out books from my library without having to leave my house! I can also check them out at work and have them on my computer at work. It's so convenient and free! This way I have money to buy the books I actually want to own! - by AUDREYM82
  • The library is one of my favorite places! If I bought each book that I have checked out from the library, we would not have anything left for clothing, food, or housing! The books would take it all emoticon And it runs in the family: One daughter emoticon enjoys libraries so much that in Fall 2010, she will begin her studies in Library Science to become a librarian! emoticon emoticon emoticon - by MRSJARI
My family and I love the library. Both of my children like to read. We also check out DVD's for a week for free. I also check out cookbooks, so I can browse them instead of buying them. - by LILYSSY11
I love being able to preview books.
Our public library even sells their withdrawn books in a lovely store called Twice Sold Tales with Dunkin Donut coffee too. - by NEXTYEAR
  • I too use the library especially to watch the new movies. I suggested to the library to buy The Spark and they were thrilled to get the book. I was the 1st in line to get to read it. You can also use it to read all the magazines. - by HOPE2BE
  • I also find many exercise DVD's that I can borrow for a week or more and buy if I REALLY like them. Adds a little variety. emoticon emoticon
I requested that our local library purchase The Spark and I am happy to see that they now have several copies. - by LOSINIT52
  • I agree. When I go, I always grab a couple of cookbooks along with the fiction. It has allowed me to read thousands of great books and I keep the recipes ( I note the book it came from) that I want without the expense of buying a book or having to store loads of books...the internet has made recipe finding easy but there is just something about flipping through a beautiful book. - by CAROLEHZ
