Secrets of Success

Use Generic

Use generics. From medications like Tylenol (acetaminophen) and benadryl (diphenhydramine), many are exactly the same as the brand name, and always a LOT cheaper. They work the same, and a lot of time they are made by the same company. The same goes for food. Many are just as good.

More Information:

Most of the generic brands are just as good as the name brands, although a few are not. It is a trial and error thing and depends on taste. Some things, like toilet paper, I haven't been able to find in the generic.

all generic presciption drugs are not always the same. THe companies can get away with it if the main ingrediant is 80% or more. I found this out a few weeks ago when I had been in the hospital and was given a generic for a medication I had been taking for years. I told him that the medicine had started not working right again.(He asked me if it was generic and after I told him yes, he said that many generic meds are not the same as the name brand. I had always thought that they were the same. many prescripton drugs pass as long as they are 80% or more of the active ingrediant. I started taking the nongeneric again and I was better within a few days.My doc got a chuckle out of it when I told him how many times I had told someone that there was no difference in generic prescription meds and name brand. The one I have to take is very costly(of course) but it is one that I have to have the name brand on - by KUTEY504
