Secrets of Success

Walk To The Gym!

Next time you drive to your favorite fitness center for a workout, park as far from the front door as possible. I see people at my local 24 Hour fitness center driving in circles looking for a close spot. Why?
Try to break this habit for the gym at least, and you may end up breaking it for good!

More Information:

If your gym is within a mile, walk to it for a nice warm up and cool down.

I live about 17 miles from my gym but to counter that, I always park in the lot farthest away from the front door. I just love when I pull into the parkng lot and see people being "competitive" for the closest spot to the door and they are some of the very same people I witness on different weight machines on the circuit with the worst form possible! ;-) - by ARTHURTOM

Some of those same people compete to get a close parking spot, then stand in line for 15 min to get on their cardio machine. Why not use those 15 min walking around the block, or skipping rope in the side room, or trying out a new machine (rowing machines seem to be under used) or shooting hoops!

Perhaps it is a goal setting thing. They want to break a personal best on the treadmill, and worry that walking before hand will take too much energy away from that new record? - by TARDYON
