Secrets of Success

Reuse Towels For Savings

Save laundry time, money and wear on towels by hanging them up to dry after baths and using two or three days. Washcloths are the only thing that really gets dirty when you bathe, so buy multi-packs at the dollar store for fresh washcloths for every shower and face wash.

More Information:

Using a towel twice instead of once can cut laundry in half! You just need a towel rack for each person in the family. Color coding towels can help kids remember theirs. I've found washcloths at Dollar Genera for 18 for $4 so it's easy to keep a big supply, just toss in rag bag when they get worn.

  • why not use the towel for a whole week? that's what i do... same with the washcloth - by MALIGAL19
  • I even do this with paper towels! If I just dried something that I didn't want towel lint on, I drape it over the faucet to dry and use it again. Why not? It's still clean and saves lots of paper waste so I feel less bad about using paper towels in general. :) - by GIRANIMAL

  • I tried to get my sons to hang up their towels after showering but I could never get them to do it until they went off to college and had to do their own laundry. Now it is second nature to them. - by HIKERJOHNSON
