Easy Pretty Feet!

I always liberally apply Vaseline petroleum jelly to my feet before putting on my socks and sneakers. After my run/walk, my feet are always smooth and soft. My feet always look nice in sandals or strappy shoes!

  • For the folks asking about walking shoes.

Mine are New Balance (from a New Balance store) and I like them a lot. The biggest thing is to get fitted properly. I went into the store and thought I knew my size, they sized me up and suddenly I had a pair of shoes that fit properly and were comfortable.

Go to a reputable place to do this, someplace that specializes in shoes (and not bargain shoes either). You might pay a little more, but they will last longer and be comfortable. Also consider a special insole to help with specific problem areas if needed. - by BRIELANA
  • It sounds like a great idea, but do your feet slide? - by GINGERKID86
I also use vaseline on my feet before going for as walk. It helps to soften the feet and let the socks exfoliate. No more calluses to file! - by KRISAMZ
  • I use a coconut butter lotion on my feet BUT I have recently had a breakout of athletes foot and had to use that cream on the toe and between area. Summer is when my feet get BAD But this winter ALL of my body is suffering from being SO dry, I find skin flakes in my pants. Started using Johnson's creamy baby oil w/ aloe & it helps immensely! - by EARTH420

My heels are always very dry and I've been using Avon foot cream, but they only stay moist for an hour or two. I'm going to try the Vaseline this evening after a shower. Thanks for the helpful tip. I think Shea Butter is a good idea too. A physical therapist recommended that after I had had toe surgery. He suggested putting it on the incision after the healing process was complete. He said it would help with scar tissue and soften the surgical area. emoticon - by SUZZQ4LIFE

I have been putting Vaseline on my feet for years. I put it on with socks just before going to bed. I also use it on my hands covered with cloth gloves. It works great - by DJEWELLCOOP
  • Vaseline is the best! - by FITWITHIN
Sounds great - I normally use a scented body cream on the feet. However, I once read that you never put cream/lotion between your toes....just on top and bottom of your feet. emoticon - by FLATLANDER21
Many years ago, Michael Jordan mention that he would put lotion on his feet for the same reason and I have been doing the same thing since. In the gym I see other men in my age group with terrible looking feet yet I have been able to maintain my feet in great condition. I strongly believe that using lotion (or whatever you feel works best) is the reason why. - by GILBERTG
  • This sounds like a good idea. Thank you! I'm going to try it. - by DONNA088
  • I have a problem with my feet and I was wondering if anyone can help me please? I do a lot of walking and love it so much. Walking for me is good for the body and the mind.
I went to a local store to look for something comfortable to wear on my feet and the sale lady told me about a vinyl insole that she wears and many of the other ladies who works in the store wear them as well, she said.
I ruined my feet by wearing them. When I would walk the vinyl rubbed the bottom of my feet until they were so tender and red that I sometimes feel they will bleed. There aren't any open sores; but I can't even walk across my own floor now without being in pain because of the sore spots.
Is there a real good shoe I can buy? The price doesn't bother me, after all it would be a good investment.
I can't put vaseline or any other foot cream on my feet, that makes it rub even more.
