Secrets of Success

Make It Apart Of Your Everyday Life.

I am learning to make exercise a normal part of my day, the same as taking a bath, brushing my teeth, and eating dinner. It shouldn't be something that you pencil into your day, just so you can have the option to erase it later.

More Information:

From my blog: Would we contemplate taking a bath that day, because something came up? Or would would we say, "I'll just brush my teeth twice as long tomorrow, to make up for not doing it today"? Sounds ridiculous, right?
Let's quit letting life get in the way and make it part of our life instead!

  • I did this when I started out 5 years ago so now when I don't do anything for exercise it is because I am sick and it makes me nervous and antsy to miss a day of exercise. - by PJOY17

  • Exercise is part of my day five day's a week. Sometimes six day's. But I try to rest my body two day's a week. - by DELLMEL
Unfortunate for me Bathing and brushing my teeth are things I did just because I would be seeing other people during the day. If I knew I would be home all day I might skip the bath and teeth brushing in favor of doing something I enjoyed more like playing on the computer. I really need to get a daily to-do list set up and print out each day then I can check off everything I do. This will help me to get everything done and not put it off until the next day as it will be listed there as well. emoticon - by PREPAREMYTEMPLE

  • Good idea, I exercise everyday for the past twenty years, but I was sick for the past two weeks and was unable to exercise and I really missed it. I still try to rake leaves and sweep the house so that I can get in at least a little until I am well enough to start back exercising Thank you anyway. - by AMBER461
  • I just have to say this much regarding this secret. Because of how demanding my daughter is, I have quite a few days that I really need to decide whether I actually have time to bathe. For instance, it isn't happening today. I'll just have to shower in the morning. - by URBANAUDREYE
  • This is my goal! I want to make it automatic..something I never skip.
Hard habit to get into after this many years of little exercise!

  • I agree with you also !!! When I was exercising everyday, walking or doing Richard Simmon's videos, Or when I did aquasize., I would do it everyday, thinking what if something does come up tomorrow and I really can't exercise. I did it for many years. When I had to quit, it was the sorryest ( spelling ? ) day of my life. I was doing aquasize and strength training, had to quit cause DH lost his job, we just couldn't afflord it. I won't go into the whole story, I just want to say, once you do quit any kind of exercise program, it is sooooooo........... hard to get back onone. So do it everyday, something
, with the idea tomorrow something may come up that prevents you from exercising. You'll feel so much better, especially if you don't get days that something detours you !!!

  • I am so with you on this point. After ignoring my body for so many years and then being compelled to change...I started paying closer attention to what it says and not just what it looks like. Once I became regular at exercising it told me out loud...I feel great, I have energy, I can do that, Try this you can do it and ultimately it says thank you for taking care of me! - by CHERYLSBUTT
  • without our daily exercise, where would we get those feel good endorphins to start the day? - by WALKSINLIGHT
  • I totally agree with you.
That's what I have been doing for 18 months. If I don't exercise I feel sluggish.
I know everyone has busy lives, some more than other. But if you make exercise a priority and figure it in just like other important aspects of your life, I believe you can do it.
Don't have exercise something you will do if you find time for it. Make time.
People say I am dedicated, committed. I agree, but I am also determined to never go back to the morbidly obese, unhealthy, unfit life I was existing in. Now I am living and it's a darn good feeling. Exercise is a big part of that feeling.

  • i totally agree. it is just a part of who i am now. I feel bad when I don't workout one day. sometimes i find myself being active around the house even though i need to take a break with my workouts. my family knows it is what i do after i get home from work. sometimes we go for familyu walks as well to get everyrone involved. - by FLYINGTOFREEDOM
