Secrets of Success

Balance What You Bring In With What You Take Out

Whenever you buy something new, get rid of something you already have. If you KNOW ahead of time that you will be getting rid of something you already have in order to make room for the something new you are looking at, you will really think twice before buying it.

More Information:

This only works if you follow the rule consistently. You have to KNOW that each purchase will require getting rid of something. Once you train yourself, your house will become less cluttered, and you will save money! Tip: each time you decide NOT to buy, put the $ you would have spent in a piggy!

  • I was in that place once too but then someone told me about I know, it sounds flaky but you may want to check it out and see if it could help in your situation. The "FlyLady"s name is actually Marla Cilley and she and her crew work to help people like us "declutter" our homes in a "non-perfectionist" and fun way. There's actually a few "FlyLady" Sparkteams out there but I haven't joined any yet so I can't attest to them. Can't hurt to at least check out though... Wishing you the best.

  • I like this but I don't know if I can live up to this. I am looking for some real life help with a problem I have with saving things for a later use. Yes I have clutter in my life. I know I would be better off without it but I can't seem to let it go. Sorry to run off like this. emoticon - by GRENEYEDBLOND
