This Police Officer's Act of Kindness Will Inspire You to Pay It Forward

Someone needs to review the availability of the videos. I remember the story of this one and it was touching. Too bad it was removed. Report

This is a great inspiration. It was very thoughtful and I wish that more people would be of the same kindheartedness to do such a random act. Around here, police would have hauled a person off to jail or something stupid like that. Report

What a nice thing for the officer to do.
It's just too bad that a few of the comments here are judgmental about the mother. We all can't be perfect.
Sometimes the old saying is "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything" should apply.

Very nice thing for him to do. However since the mother did not even require her child to be buckled or even SIT in the seat, I doubt that this does any good. Report

There is no reason to not have a car seat for a child. We have purchased four of them in the past two years, since we have grandchildren and gotten them off of Craigslist for as little as $15.(2 were the infant types & then 2 when they got forwarding facing.) We did pay $40 for one since it was one of the high-end brands that had cost $249 and it had been used by a Grandfather in his truck, so it was still like new. Thrift Shops have them, as well as lots of yard sales. Report

Our city police have a resource officer who works with local agencies to get car seats donated when families need them. Mothers in shelters and such. What a great use of taxpayers' dollars. Immediately finding help for those in need. I know they kept several AT the police station and had sources who would either donate the seat or give the cash to make sure the children were cared for.
